J&J Family of Companies Director, Security Product Engagement and Experience in Raritan, New Jersey

The Johnson & Johnson Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) team is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual for a Product Engagement & Experience Director position to lead the ISRM’s organization in a shift from a project delivery approach to a product-centric model. This position will be located in Raritan, NJ.

The Product Engagement and Experience Director will stand up and mature an ISRM Service Center, a one-stop-shop for all ISRM requests, enabling central intake and demand management. Working in a highly collaborative environment with the PMO and Product Owners to respond to demand and forecast resourcing based on strategic prioritization. The candidate will need a strong entrepreneurial mentality and to think big with a strong bias to learn, dive deep, invent, simplify and take action.

As part of the role, the Director will partner with ISRM (architecture, engineering, operations teams), Technology Services (TS), and Business Facing Technology teams to be responsible for the transition to a product model, centered on improved experience, based on clearly defined product visions that are established by product owners. This involves leading product managers to implement high-performing agile squads for new demand and operations, with productivity measured by outcomes and indicators. A product and health framework will be created, and targets will be established based on defined prioritization criteria that shape product roadmaps.

This position will also establish the vendor management strategy and shape key vendor relationships, leading executive top to top reviews, benchmarking the industry, oversight of RFPs, ensuring the right vendor is selected based on the scope of work, providing oversight during the engagement to ensure quality delivery and services, forging strong partnerships.

The role will lead the Service Center, establish a vision for the ISRM interaction product, and develop the product roadmap. This will require the delivery of bold goals supporting security adoption, operational performance, and feature delivery. Your ability to actively engage and influence senior-level partners within and outside the immediate organization is critical for success in this role.

We are looking for a self-starter who is highly comfortable in facilitating the development, engineering, and business teams to meet commitments and successfully deliver high-quality products and new features using agile methodology. The right candidate for this role is operationally strong, forging many relationships, dependencies, and timelines across critical initiatives.


  • Establish product vision and roadmap to securely deliver the demand lifecycle for security requests

  • Lead scoping, architecture solutions, design, and roadmap of the Product Service Center

  • Oversight of project budget and financial planning, integrating and leading at the portfolio level, schedule in terms of effort based project plans with Agile standards, and tracking/monitoring of issues, risks, decisions, assumptions, and dependencies

  • Monitors the progress of program components to ensure overall goals, schedule, budget, and benefits of the program are achieved

  • Ensures adherence to J&J established processes (SDLC, Agile, etc.) during the project

  • Provides proactive communication of project status, budget, issues, and risks to sponsors and partners

  • Demonstrate leadership through influence across the enterprise, and create followership and trust across all levels

  • Champion High Performing Teams program and implement standard methodologies across ISRM

  • Ensure ISRM roadmaps over a multi-year horizon for all products

  • Evaluate current state, baselines, and gap assessments for all product models and teams

  • Work with ISRM’s PMO to ensure smooth delivery and status updates to partners and ensure alignment of key delivery teams

  • Provide Product subject matter expertise for business and technical project teams ensuring the recommended agile squad meets requirements

  • Evaluate vendor solutions for Service Center, Demand Management, and Resource Management to ensure they meet technology and cloud standards, as well as all applicable architecture considerations

  • Be self-directed, provide detailed estimates and work breakdown of typical activities using an Agile framework

  • Establish product teams that support and align with cloud-based online service strategies and engineering requirements for security services, mechanisms, and safeguards

  • Develop metrics that demonstrate the current risk state, indicators of progress, and ISRM business alignment

  • Engage with product teams and provide leadership and product design guidance

  • Supervise product squad performance and ensure the ISRM teams follow industry-standard methodologies

  • Advanced understanding of Demand Management tools, technologies, and processes

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field

  • Minimum of 10+ years of related IT program experience

  • Experience with Agile, Project Delivery, and Program Management

  • Ability to collaborate within a large team of Technical and Business Product Owners

  • Strong understanding of technology architecture concepts, software & product development

  • Knowledge of industry and business process trends related to Product Lifecycle Management and respective capabilities

  • Agile System Development methodologies, including use of Agile tools like JIRA/Confluence

  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional programs in SaaS/PaaS, cloud-managed services, or in other data-centric environments

  • Process Design / Business Requirement Analysis skills

  • Able to lead through bold priorities. Help teams prioritize and focus

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engineering and product teams as well as for executive team


  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management, Cybersecurity, or other Security and Compliance experience

  • Experience designing and running Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions

  • Human-centered Design experience
