As a Maintenance Planner you will:

Play a strategic role in supporting Production Maintenance for Raynham Orthopaedics production equipment. This position will plan and schedule all the predictive, preventive corrective maintenance work orders and special projects generated by the Maintenance department and by other departments of the Plant. Serves as the official contact to other departments for coordination of work orders. Assures maintenance activities are efficient and effective by making costs estimates in terms of time, materials, spare parts and the hiring of outside contractors. This role will support day-to-day maintenance downtime situations impacting production and improving equipment reliability as well as new equipment selection, installation and validation related activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides support in the receiving, planning, work estimates, and the coordination of work orders related to repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Works as the custodian and primary user of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Procures to keep the program up to date on a daily basis and performs periodic audits to ensure the proper use of the system.

  • Reviews work orders, clarifies details with the originator to ensure objective of the work order.

  • Pay special attention to work orders for corrective and preventive actions.

  • Assures that work orders are properly approved and that the completion date is achievable.

  • After receiving the work order, makes costs estimates of the work to be performed in terms of time, materials, spare parts and the hiring of outside contractors, if needed.

  • Provides team work to the impacted manufacturing area and to the Planning group. Coordinates equipment, facilities or the availability to effectively execute the work order. If possible, integrates calibration itinerary with the maintenance works to minimize business impact.

  • Serves as the official contact to other departments for the coordination of work orders.

  • Verifies the availability of parts and reserves the order against the work order number.

  • Knowing the skills of the workforce, ensures the employees' distribution is done according to the nature and magnitude of the tasks included ill the work order to effectively achieve the end results.

  • Coordinates and trains all the CMMS users.

  • Prepares a daily work schedule, by shift and by mechanic/technician, at least one day prior to the execution of the work schedule. Personally, delivers the work schedule to the respective "maintenance engineer of the area for its execution.

  • Assists in the preparation of "Plant Shutdowns" and verifies all work requirements of departments and work groups with the maintenance supervisors and with the validation group.

  • Acquires a preā€approval from the direct supervisor of the mechanic/technician if the job will be completed in overtime.

  • Attends the weekly plan meetings and meets with the tactical group to ensure that the communication channels are appropriate and clear.

  • Establishes constant communication with all the production planners to minimize any possible interference between production and "maintenance work orders. Ensures that all commitments and agreements are written and followed all the time.

  • Verifies that lubricants or chemicals used ill the equipment maintenance or facilities are previously approved by the environmental, health and safety department ("EHS").

  • Ensures compliance with any documentation required by the Environmental Engineer when the work order has any environmental impact.

  • Ensures compliance with all regulations of GMPs, Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics at all times.

  • Plans and keeps control of the work performed by contractors for the preventive, predictive and corrective work orders.

  • Is accountable of generating various reports:

  • Weekly Maintenance Plan (with I or 2 weeks in advance).

  • Work Orders Status (in a weekly basis)

  • Prepares corrective maintenance work orders.

Qualifications

  • Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associates is required

  • A minimum of 6 Years Work Experience is required

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with Maintenance Systems, GMPs and Manufacturing is required

  • Processes in the medical industry is required.

  • A minimum 2 - 4 years of related equipment maintenance experience and/or training is required.

  • Technical Vocational training in machining operations and/or electrical/electronic preferred.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills preferred.

  • The ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics preferred.

  • Experience with automation including highly complex mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, PLC and motion controllers preferred.

  • Experience with manufacturing in a Clean Room environment is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.

  • Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS i.e. Maximo) is required.

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, GMPs, OSHA and other medial industry applicable regulations is required.

  • Skills working with SOPs and compliance related documentation is preferred.

  • Project management experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Process Excellence/Six Sigma tools and methodologies preferred.

  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have the ability to function in a team based manufacturing environment.

  • The ability to collaborate with all levels of management in a cross-functional team environment is required.

  • Be present on the Manufacturing Site on a daily basis Monday to Friday regular business hours, minimum of 8 hours per day.

  • Able to work extra hours, at night and irregular shifts. Able to respond to emergency calls. Able to support other departments or projects according to business needs.
