About This Job
The Corporate Finance Analyst II is responsible for analysis and transaction reporting within the Corporate Treasury team at CarMax. Ongoing responsibilities are expected to include reporting on the Company’s financing transactions (which include over $18 billion of outstanding debt), supporting the interest rate hedging program, engaging in financial analysis of real estate transactions and debt financings, as well as financial modeling to forecast future Company cashflows and financial position. The Analyst II partners with various internal and external business partners, including banks, lawyers, accountants, auditors, and trustees.
What You Will Do – Essential Responsibilities
Assist in ongoing reporting and administration of debt programs:
Administer required daily cashflows related to CarMax Auto Finance’s $17+ billion securitized debt portfolio
Prepare monthly reporting for banks and investors and help coordinate monthly settlement activity
Identify and investigate reporting issues and errors and partner across the organization to resolve as necessary
Support ongoing regulatory filings; coordinate filings with executive management and legal counsel
Conduct and track funding requests and perform analysis of available funding alternatives
Update, monitor, and analyze portfolio performance statistics; create new reports as necessary
Oversee various legal compliance requirements, partnering with internal and external business partners
Independently create accounting entries and conduct account reconciliations for financing activity, researching variances and partnering with internal and external partners to obtain support and resolve issues
Develop and maintain various accounting schedules related to securitization programs
Develop an understanding and assist in the administration of the CarMax interest rate hedging programs
Prepare materials for the quarterly meetings of the CarMax Plan Asset Committee which oversees the investments of the various CarMax retirement benefit programs
Develop an understanding and assist in analysis related to the debt financing of CarMax
Evaluate real estate lease obligations and participate in future planning related to financing growth initiatives

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization
Four-year College Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics, or equivalent, relevant work experience required
Strong competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Knowledge of general ledger accounting preferred; prior Oracle experience helpful, but not required
Prior Workiva (SEC filing application) experience helpful, but not required
