Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain, Technical Operations and Risk, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for Global Trade Controls “GTC” Manager . This position can be located at any Johnson & Johnson site within the U.S. Remote work may be considered on a case-by case basis and if approved by the business.

Reporting to Senior Manager, GTC, the GTC Manager will evolve the global training program and lead global process controls maintenance efforts. In addition, this individual will use their knowledge of cross border requirements to support implementation existing and emerging global trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to standardize global controls' structure to enable optimal visibility and compliance.

  • Employ industry methodologies to organize, communication and update global import and export controls.

  • Evolve and shape training curriculum to address emerging regulations and meet compliance obligations in coordination with other teams.

  • Manage 3rd party engagements by ensuring timely and effective delivery of services through Key Performance Indicators, scorecards and other governance tools.

  • Use global trade knowledge to advise on key initiatives.

  • Collaborate with teams of trade compliance professionals and J&J businesses to build trust, influence, empower self and others, practice diversity and inclusion, and make informed and timely decisions.

  • Perform all other relevant activities relating to job accountabilities as the need arises.

Qualifications

Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent University degree is required, with a focus in compliance/economics/finance or legal preferred.

Advanced degree or equivalent global trade certification (e.g. Customs broker’s license) is desirable.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 6 years of direct functional expertise in any of the following areas; Global Trade, Tax, Finance or similar.

  • Comprehensive business knowledge, strategy development and experience in a global compliance area

  • Experience developing and implementing compliance processes.

  • Experience designing and deploying training programs.

  • Experience implementing data and technology solutions to support effective compliance processes.

Preferred:

  • In-depth knowledge of importing, exporting, and country specific trade regulations

  • Prior experience working with regulatory agencies and industry peers and companies.

  • Prior experience managing compliance solutions with technology tools such as SAP, SAP Global Trade Services, Trade Automation, Alteryx, PowerBI, etc

  • Project management experience

Other:

  • This position may require up to 25% domestic & international travel.

  • This position has an estimated annual salary of 99,000- 197,000 USD$

  • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
