Who we are looking for:

A Senior Business Systems Analyst with experience in the areas highlighted below. This is a unique opportunity to work at a Fortune 200 company and national brand to expand your skills and influence a growing Privacy program. This opportunity provides the opportunity to work with the technology and business teams and build relationships and processes between business partners and application development/support teams. You will work with senior risk management, privacy, and technology professionals to facilitate customer privacy requests and partner with multiple business and technology areas within CarMax to ensure compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and new privacy laws as they evolve. This role serves as the conduit between the business community, Privacy core team, technology, and the application development teams.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

CarMax Data Privacy Program Coordination and Oversight

  • As a key member of a high performing team, support, execute and maintain a framework for Data Governance and Privacy Consent.

  • Facilitate all aspects of the privacy lifecycle starting with the customer inquiry of information maintained by CarMax, tracking and following-up on privacy data retrieval progression from various systems, and delivering the results to the customer.

  • Coordinate with multiple product organizations to facilitate removal of customer information as requested within the requisite timeframe.

  • Submit and coordinate surveys to internal product teams to confirm existing privacy data locations and identify any new storage locations and update contact information and tracking location(s) as appropriate.

  • Document the lifecycle process and look for process efficiency opportunities versus automating manual methods.

  • Assist in producing corporate and external metrics as it relates to data privacy requests processed, rejected and other relevant status elements as defined. Gathers data, conducts analyses, and prepares related risk reporting.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Technology Innovation Center and have a Hybrid work arrangement

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/ Computer Science/Information Systems with Privacy, IT audit, risk or compliance experience or equivalent military experience.

  • Industry certification recommended, i.e. International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), or in the process of obtaining the CIPT, CIPM, or similar.

  • Previous working experience and/or knowledge of two or more functions (IT Risk Assessor, QSA, Privacy Analyst, IT Auditor).

  • 6+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience required

  • 3-5 years of experience working effectively with the business community gathering and translating requirements into functional or system specifications

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Case Management, ServiceNow, and Excel is preferred
