The Opportunity

This position will be onsite working out of our Richmond, VA or Gretna, LA location on the ARDx, Abbott Rapid Diagnostics IT Division.

As the Sr. Software Engineer , you will have the opportunity to work as a full stack developer to design, develop, and deliver custom-built creative software solutions in Windows and web platforms, tailored to meet our business needs. You will collaborate closely with the development team, business stakeholders, and IT management to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Additionally, you will be troubleshooting and resolving system defects, ensuring the reliability and performance of our applications.

What You’ll Work On

  • End to end development of new features in windows and web applications as per the project schedule by following company’s Software Life Cycle guidelines.

  • Debug, troubleshoot and resolve software defects.

  • Develop complex and efficient SQL queries and stored procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to design and implement supportable and flexible IT solutions to meet business needs.

  • Actively participate in meetings including project status, technical brainstorming, and training.

  • Learn, adopt, and champion latest software design technologies and best practices.

  • Complies with required regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

  • Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art tools, techniques, and participating in educational opportunities in line with company’s growth and needs.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline

  • At least 5 years of application development experience in C#, VB.NET, Angular JS/React and other related technologies.

  • At least 3 years of experience in writing SQL queries / Stored Procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience in healthcare systems especially in laboratory information management systems or related.

  • Experience with cloud technologies and cloud-native app development.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
