This position may be filled as an Engineer II, III, Senior or Senior Lead, based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. Based on qualifications, this position may also work out of any Entergy Nuclear site including our nuclear division hearquarters in Jackson, MS, Arkansas Nuclear One - Russellville, AR, Grand Gulf Nuclear Station - Port Gibson, MS, River Bend Station - St Francisville, LA, or Waterford 3 - Killona, LA (outside New Orleans).*

Job Summary/Purpose:

Conducts routine Programs engineering activities and ensures the safety of nuclear components at Entergy nuclear plants in a safe, cost effective and efficient way.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establish/Maintain criteria (Program Scoping, Operating Requirements, Testing Requirements, Tracking/Trending, etc.).

  • Prepare and maintain design standards and Program documents (Fleet Program Procedures, Central/Site Program Procedures, etc.).

  • Establish or implement industry-accepted methodologies based on specific licensing commitments and/or EPRI/Owners Group methodology.

  • Actively participate and seek leadership position in Interface with the respective owners groups., users groups, ASME OM Code groups, USNRC, INPO, EPRI and other organizations as necessary.

  • Interface with site CMS valve engineers on a Fleet wide basis.

  • Interface with Fleet as necessary to ensure engineer and maintenance collaboration to maximize Fleet equipment reliability.

  • Interface with industry peers to share OE and collaborate on industry initiates, etc.

  • Evaluate and direct actions in response to changing regulatory requirements (for example, Generic Letters, Part 21) and industry issues (such as operating experience).

  • Perform design basis reviews/evaluations for Provide appropriate reference materials to personnel performing or reviewing calculations, establishing and tracking specific settings, and performing other related engineering tasks, such as engineer evaluations.

  • Trend and evaluate performance data and issue periodic trending reports.

  • Identify inputs needed to update the Programs.

  • Develop Outage Scope based on ASME OM Code/Commitments/Entergy Program Requirements.

  • Support Fleet emergent issues as necessary.

  • Provide outage support for activities as requested by Sites and Fleet Management.

  • Develop/maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities including setting the appropriate frequency.

  • Develop and issue post outage KPI reports.

  • Maintain Program Notebooks (LAN Drive).

Additional Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to use analytical techniques necessary to handle moderate to complex outages, projects, and assignments.

  • Ability to apply use engineering specifications and standards, codes and regulations to performance of job duties.

  • Analyze and recommend enhancements to business processes and/or outage/project schedule.

  • Be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively using technical reports and presentations.

  • Support and participate in the Emergency Plan Organization, and Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.

  • Perform all duties, and work with other employees in a safe manner, in compliance with appropriate company safety policies and rules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technical Specialist level.)

Minimum experience required of the position:

  • Engineer II: 2+ years experience (1year with a M.S.)

  • Engineer III: 4+ years experience

  • Senior Engineer: 6+ years experience (5+ years with PE)

  • Senior Lead Engineer: 10+ years of experience (8+ years with a M.S./PMP/P.E.)

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Good to excellent communication skills. Experience/proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level.
