In this role, you will:
Fabricate, assemble, integrate, and install communication, network, and security systems into a variety of military and government agency platforms, such as boats, vehicles, buildings, and transit cases.
Fabricate a variety of RF, data, and power cables using solder and crimp techniques.
Work with Quality Control, Engineering, Project Managers, and other functional groups to provide feedback and resolve issues.
Read and interpret technical drawings for fabrication and installation of communication, network, and security systems.
Build installation kits.
Travel all over the world in support of our various customers. This position requires up to 50% travel (4 to 6 months out of the year).
All work is performed according to industry best practice and Mil Standards in accordance with Quality Assurance standards.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $25.72/hr.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma and at least four years of related experience
Ability to use various power tools including drills, drill presses, core drills, saws, equipment to pull cable, vacuums, and an assortment of wire cutters and strippers, soldering irons, high press tools, voltage meters, ammeters and ohmmeters
Ability to use Microsoft Office, Visio, Excel and Word
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Ability and willingness to travel 4 to 6 months out of the year (50%)
Ability and willingness to be the lead for a small group of lower-level technicians
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
