Cardinal Health West Region Vice President of Sales, Laboratory Products & Distribution in Saint Paul, Minnesota

The West Region Vice President of Sales - Lab Products & Distribution is accountable for setting the sales strategy and delivering on lab distribution sales and product growth objectives. Success will be measured though the ability to win and retain distribution as well as deliver product portfolio growth while demonstrating an ability to improve mix and profitability within their region. The Regional VP is expected to have in-depth knowledge of the market, products and services offered, and competitive landscape.

This role will analyze market opportunities and develop/implement plans to achieve maximum penetration within the market. They will lead their team through complex deal development and negotiations as well as effectively forecast sales performance for their region. This individual leads the collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to bring the highest level of service, value and solutions to our customers.

The Regional VP builds and maintains relationships with the key customers in the region which will connect the products and services offered to the customer’s performance objectives. In addition, this leader will also foster relationships and build rapport with laboratory suppliers that utilize the Cardinal Health Lab distribution channel. In this role, the Region VP may represent the company at industry events or conferences where they promote awareness of Cardinal Health’s Laboratory business.

This position provides the vision, strategy, purpose and motivation for the region. This leader coaches and develops a team of sales leaders to achieve business results. Through clear concise communication, this individual will drive accountability at both the leader and individual contributor level. Accountable for the hiring and performance management within the region, the Region VP must have the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

Responsibilities

  • The Regional Vice President of Sales will lead a team of 50 direct and indirect employees, including Region Directors, Territory Sales Consultants, and Business/Channel Development.

  • Responsible for driving growth within the Lab business across both distribution services and laboratory products.

  • Works collaboratively with Strategic Accounts, Sales counterparts across the Segment, Marketing, Finance, and other internal functions on current business and new opportunities.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Cardinal Health, distribution, and laboratory industry including key competitors, technology, trends, challenges and customer requirements. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of how Cardinal Health offerings impact customers.

  • Creates a high-performance culture though robust performance management and talent development. Fosters and supports effective teamwork, accountability and innovation.

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of customer's successes, challenges, and strategic objectives; draws from experience and significant financial acumen to recognize and provide advice regarding potential opportunities and risks

  • Proactively seeks out and fosters strategic partnerships with key influencers at multiple levels in the client organization and within Cardinal Health; takes swift and decisive action to address any concerns or obstacles

Qualification

  • 10+ years healthcare sales experience in distribution, Medical/Laboratory products preferred.

  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory market and diagnostic testing, strongly preferred

  • Successful track record of exceeding sales targets and growing market share within defined region

  • Proven leadership capabilities, including ability to manage diverse personalities/skill sets in a changing environment

  • Excellent planning, forecasting, financial and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated matrix management skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Executive presence and solid presentation and communication capabilities

  • Ability to travel 50%domestically, booking travel according to Cardinal Health’s travel policy.

  • Customer/Vendor credentialing may be required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected.

  • Ability to work remotely from home/field requires a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet.

Anticipated base salary range: $163,000 - $263,000

  • The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
