Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for assessing, managing, and mitigating credit risks associated with the Firm’s lending activities. This role involves analyzing credit data and models to ensure compliance with regulatory requirement and to maintain a healthy credit portfolio and minimize financial losses. The role will require extensive collaboration with various business units to create and report relevant data (Key Risk Indicators “KRIs”, limits, etc.) to be used as leading indicators in assessing the credit risk profile of the Enterprise as well as evaluate and report on various credit risk mitigation actions.

This is NOT a remote position. The associate will be expected to work a hybrid schedule and be based either in the New York City, or St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay, FL area.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Credit Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

  • Establish and track key credit risk metrics, including delinquency, charge-offs, and portfolio performance.

  • Develop automated dashboards and reports for senior management and regulatory compliance

  • Provide insights on portfolio segmentation, risk concentrations, and stress testing scenarios.

Risk Policy & Compliance

  • Work closely with various Business Units to ensure adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines

  • Support regulatory reporting and audits related to credit risk data and analytics

  • Assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies, including limit setting and credit scoring enhancements

Data Management & Strategy

  • Oversee data extraction, transformation, and analysis from multiple sources

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to improve data infrastructure for risk analytics

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with business units, underwriting teams, and finance departments to align credit risk strategies with business goals

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders

Qualifications, Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, statistics, Finance, Economics or related fields.

  • 5+ years of experience in credit risk analysis, financial modeling, or data science in a banking or financial services environment.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or SAS for data analysis and modeling.

  • Strong understanding of data visualization tools (Tableau)

  • Direct experience in commercial credit risk management and underwriting

  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks (e.g. Basel, CECL)

  • Well versed in Regulatory Credit risk guidelines and requirement

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to present complex data insight to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities

Education

Bachelor’s: Accounting, Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Bachelor’s: Finance

Work Experience

General Experience - 6 to 10 years

Certifications

Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) - Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS)
