Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Raymond James Financial Advisors, senior leadership, and alternative investment fund partners to troubleshoot service issues, including, but not limited to, new investments, commission payments, pricing, client statements, and redemptions.

  • Assist with basic technological concepts (e.g., data structures and database design) to work with IT professionals on process improvement and risk mitigation projects.

  • Manage the operational infrastructure of Raymond James’s alternative investment platform.

  • Engage with Financial Advisors, alternative investment Fund Sponsors, and home office departments to support all operational aspects of the Alternative Investment platform.

  • Submit client investments to fund sponsors, conduct client suitability reviews, generate trade confirmations, update positions and valuations on client statements, process redemptions, and maintain account performance details.

  • Identify opportunities to create efficiencies and assist with complex research and investigations.

  • Orient and train new team members.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Office practices, procedures, and methods

  • Basic accounting concepts

  • Operations at an alternative investment firm, institutional consultant, or broker-dealer

  • Advanced MS Office applications, including Excel functions such as pivot tables and formulas

  • SEC rules defining client accreditation standards

  • Basic database and technology concepts

  • Increasing business process effectiveness and efficiency through technology

  • FINRA and SEC rules

Skill in:

  • Organization and time management to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

  • Project management

  • Effective verbal and written communication with detail and precision

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving with limited supervision

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications

Ability to:

  • Build effective working relationships

  • Collaborate with IT to design, test, and deploy projects

  • Coach others in skill development

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.

Licenses/Certifications

  • SIE required (unless exempt or grandfathered)

  • Series 7 and Series 99 or ability to obtain within one year
