Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct overall engineering activities, ensuring alignment with established programs and objectives.

  • Coordinate the creation, development, design, and improvement of corporate products.

  • Provide engineering advice and assistance to other departments.

  • Manage and motivate subordinates to achieve exceptional results.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, motivation, team building, employee involvement, diplomacy, and delegating skills.

  • Collaborate with diverse teams to achieve business and organizational objectives.

  • Set business metrics for the team and provide performance feedback to employees.

  • Address and resolve issues, discrepancies, and investigations of nonconformance.

  • Create and establish efficient operational guidelines.

  • Demonstrate strong engineering skills and continuously enhance knowledge in business development.

  • Coordinate continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and productivity improvement activities.

  • Identify resource gaps and help resolve issues across the plant.

  • Convert data to actionable projects to improve process performance.

  • Prepare and review capital and expense forecasts, addressing variance issues.

  • Maintain signature authority for Quality Systems.

  • Adhere to all relevant quality management system, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies.

Qualifications

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required. Equivalent experience will also be considered. A Master's degree or PhD in Engineering is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of overall professional experience.

  • Experience with people management and leadership is required.

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Vision Systems, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), and Robotics is required. Equivalent experience in these areas will also be considered.

  • Knowledge of Quality Systems and regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, GMP) is required.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability of Automated Equipment is preferred.

  • Ethylene Oxide Sterilization knowledge and/or experience is preferred.

  • Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is preferred.

  • Experience with high-speed automation assembly equipment is preferred.

  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis tools (e.g. Minitab) is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Excellence/Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.

  • Process Excellence/Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) Certification is preferred.

  • Strong presentation and report-writing skills.

  • Skill in effectively collaborating with direct reports and individuals at all levels of the organization in a team-oriented environment.
