BAE Systems Experienced Industrial Security Alarm Technician in San Diego, California
Job Description
Install, maintain, and repair security systems including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control systems
Manage projects in coordination with site FSOs, IT, Facilities, Joint Security Operations Center (JSOC) to ensure projects are completed 100% within budget and on-time
Support post project support and customer service efforts
Manage recurring replacement, licensing, & modernization requirements of the business
Conduct site surveys to determine the optimum placement of security system components
Test and adjust system components to ensure they are working correctly
Identify and troubleshoot system issues and carry out necessary repairs
Program and set up security systems according to the client s requirements
Provide training and support to clients on the use of security systems
Maintain an inventory of equipment and order necessary supplies
Respond to emergency calls for system malfunctions and carry out immediate repairs
Document all installation, maintenance, and repair activities for record purposes
Stay updated with the latest security technologies and update systems as required
This position requires candidate to be physically located near one of our 3 Ship Repair facilities of Norfolk, VA, Jacksonville, FL or San Diego, CA.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
Knowledge of national electrical code
Knowledge of national fire code
Familiar with common access locking hardware
Understanding of basic networking topology
Proven experience as a Security System Technician or similar role.
Knowledge of various security systems and programming software.
Understanding of electrical and electronic components and tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Technical certification or diploma in electronics or related field is a plus.
Experience with Access Control Systems (prefer Certification in C-Cure 9000, Lenel)
Experience with Video Management System (prefer Certification in exacQvision, Milestone)
Valid driver s license.
US Person
Able to obtain a US Government clearance.
Ability to travel to projects within the US.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Professional relationships with security installation vendors
PM certification
Experience supporting remotely when needed
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $67734 - $108375
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
