BAE Systems Operations Test Engineer in San Diego, California
Job Description
In this role, the successful candidate provides product test engineering work for avionics programs, completing problem resolution through root cause and corrective action techniques. Additionally, this role provides the opportunity to create test procedures and identify and implement opportunities for improved efficiencies.Test Engineer to provide training and support for technicians to repair Test equipment, production, and field return units primarily for F-16 semi-automated test stations. Candidate must have strong technical ability, troubleshooting skills, RF background, software, and ability to communicate with and have customer interface. Candidate will interface with outside vendors, Engineering team, Program Management, Test Technicians, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.
Drive manufacturing test plan scope with hardware design, software, manufacturing, and operation teams
Establish test plans based on test requirements
Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
Control test plan execution with the focus on test coverage, certification requirements, cost reduction and simplicity to promptly release equipment
Actively contribute to design review meetings of manufacturing test equipment
Support build, debug, validate, and fine-tune equipment for release to production
Establish great working relationships with vendors and managing their deliverables
Perform on-site and off-site acceptance testing (ATP/ICO) of test equipment
Continuously manage test equipment performance and improvement through ramp up, quality assurance, production certification and new product introduction phases
Work with Engineers and quality to ensure that Integration and final testing meets conforming requirements
Define operation, maintenance, and calibration requirements for each functional test equipment
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or relevant fields
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing test engineering in a high-tech manufacturing environment
Extensive knowledge of Digital, Analog, and RF circuitry.
Applicable experience includes electrical engineering, RF engineering, test engineering, electronics engineering technology.
Knowledge of Test equipment: Oscilloscope, high frequency measurements, testing, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, perform root cause analysis down to component level.
Experience with maintaining F-16 Avionics Automated Test Equipment and LRU s
Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
Working knowledge of Windows based PC s.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose failures to component level
Strong mentoring and leadership skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience setting up graphical dashboards for data analysis (Tableau, Looker, or similar)
Understand electronics technology and computer systems In this job, you will perform troubleshooting and repairs of ground electronic equipment.
Familiarity in performing inspections, preventative maintenance, installation, configuration, operation, test and repair of various technical systems in accordance with established operating procedures
Strong interpersonal skills and good integrity You will interface with internal and external customers and provide technical guidance and training on semiautomatic test systems and maintenance practices.
Sound judgment and reasoning abilities This job requires you to diagnose technical issues on complex systems and correct malfunctions to customer satisfaction within time constraints. You will utilize your vast experience, knowledge and troubleshooting skills to determine solutions to routine and complex problems.
You will assess equipment condition to meet mission requirements and contribute to a safe operating environment.
Have or able to get Secret Clearance

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $73370 - $124740
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
