Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aPrincipal Radar Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on a development program at the Autonomous Systems Center of Excellence located in San Diego, CA.

As a RadarEngineer you will working under general direction of the Radar Responsible Engineer.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a technical contributor on theRadar subsystem team.

  • Support trade studies and hardwareselection.

  • Perform hardware and software integrationtasks in a laboratory environment.

  • Perform Radar subsystem analysis and systemperformance trade studies.

  • Understand, derive and maintain applicablesystem and subsystem requirements.

  • Author and release technical documents.

  • Perform as a focal point for analyzing datafrom laboratory and flight tests, and support formally verifying solutionmeets requirements.

  • Average travel for this position is 25%



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accrediteduniversity and5 years of Engineering experience or3 years witha Master's Degree.

  • Experience working with Radar systems.

  • Must have current active in-scope DoD TopSecret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Special ProgramAccess.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Engineering or relatedtechnical discipline

  • 5+ years of experience working with Radarand payload systems

  • Experience tracking parts and equipmentand interfacing with Global Supply Chain.

  • Experience developing and presentingtechnical change packages.

  • Experience with managing tasks andschedule.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate andcollaborate across program level (management, chief engineers, engineers,and technical leads), and negotiate / integrate different viewpoints.
