Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Global Hawk program in leading a team to ensure complete Systems Engineering work and rigor is conducted in order to incorporate the BACN payload into the UAV airframe.

Essential Functions:

Plan, organize and manage technical activities and to effectively motivate multiple disciplines to work as an integrated team across locations and organizations.

System Requirements assessments and verification

System Safety interface and incorporation

System Security assessments

Environmental Qualification to include EMI/EMC

Airworthiness Certification from ACCP to MFR

Knowledge and incorporation of Configuration and Data Management

Cost Account Management (CAM)

Engineering Flight Release coordination and execution

Strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills across various programs

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, software engineers, hardware designers, and test engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and at least 9 years of engineering experience or a Master's Degree in STEM with at least 7 years of engineering experience

An active DoD Secret

Preferred Qualifications:

An MS degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) is preferred.

Experience in the Design, Development, Production, Testing, and Fielding the Global Hawk System

Experience in lab and flight testing

Experience with aircraft delivery and close out process

Understanding of Airframe Architecture and Avionics

Experience with Product Support
