The Strategic Account Lead uncovers new opportunities and responds with mutually beneficial transformations, together with Oncology strategic partners, which increase value centered on clinical research. The SAL contributes to GCO and country-specific goals to optimize clinical trial delivery. Creating a strong level of commitment between Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (JJIM) and Oncology Strategic Sites is a key SAL deliverable. Identifying and managing connections and communications between key stakeholders from internal JJIM and external partners are a basic delivery. SALs will contribute to the development of a clear and measurable site engagement strategy across their country of responsibility, to address the needs of a rapidly evolving portfolio, focusing not only on today´s challenges but also on future portfolio needs across all phases of development. Ultimately, the SAL supports shifting project-focused relationships with key Oncology Strategic Sites to a mutually beneficial environment

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development

  • Develops site engagement strategy and action plans in alignment with key internal/external stakeholders, including the global therapeutic area teams, and integrating country/regional and global needs to deliver our portfolio across both in-house and outsourced studies.

  • Match evolving portfolio needs to site capabilities.

  • Partners with country teams to understand and analyze local market dynamics for clinical research and links when appropriate to the JJIM commercial priorities.

  • Contributes to defining potential Strategic site collaboration models in partnership with other Strategic Account Leads and JJIM business leaders, including other site facing roles.

External Engagement

  • Develops an excellent reputation for service; build efficient and effective action plans to respond to site concerns and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure high

  • Works collaboratively to ensure effective site engagement, enabling effective delivery of JJIM trial priorities

  • Leverages face to face interactions, including external meetings and congresses, to drive maximum impact.

  • Integrates and prioritizes relevant objectives and milestones to optimize site engagement and diversity clinical trial delivery outcomes.

Internal Engagement

  • Develop strategies and priorities with relevant internal groups including, but not limited to Global Clinical Operations, Therapeutic Areas, Delivery Unit, and Medical Affairs

  • Effectively communicates site strategies across all internal partners.

  • Provides Strategic site insights and feedback to extended internal teams to share perceptions and perspectives on JJIM R&D clinical trial delivery.

  • Contributes to the adaptation of JJIM clinical operations processes to improve sites/networks experience and optimize clinical trial delivery.

Principal Relationships:

The Strategic Account Lead reports through their respective Global Clinical Operations Country Director. Additional internal relationships include, but are not limited to, Therapeutic Areas, Delivery Unit, Medical Affairs, and Contracting and Compliance Services.

Primary external interfaces include, but are not limited to, Clinical Operations Leadership and Personnel at Strategic Oncology Sites. Additional external interfaces may include other key personnel at Strategic Sites, Industry Trade Group representatives, Site Network Representatives, and Key Opinion Leaders (within their roles as operations leaders at their respective organizations).

Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, a Masters Degree is preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Min 8 years of either relevant clinical operations, medical affairs or TA-specific sales experience is required

  • Up to 50% travel depending on geographic location, mostly national is required

  • Skills to identify, develop, maintain, and build advocacy with strategic partners is required

  • Able to develop and maintain trustful, long-term internal and external relationships is required

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills (vocal and storytelling) communication skills is required

  • Ability to drive innovation and solve problems in an ambiguous environment

  • Well-organized, able to prioritize and orchestrate matrixed teams to drive approaches to success is required

  • Develops reports and analyses setting forth progress, roadblocks, and appropriate recommendations for project success/conclusions is required

  • Self-directed; able to work with limited supervision, and contribute to team objectives is required

  • Ability to drive innovation and solve problems in an ambiguous environment is required

Preferred:

  • Experience working with external entities or 3rd parties including knowledge of contracts, relationship management, and oversight of deliverables is preferred

  • Knowledge of and relationships with Strategic Accounts is preferred

  • Knowledgeable about clinical development and clinical operations is preferred

  • Oncology Experience is preferred

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $135,000 - $232,300 USD

The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
