This position will be based at the San Lorenzo facility for approximately 3 months following the start date. Subsequently, the position will be based at the Manatí facility. Ethicon is expanding its manufacturing operations to Manatí, Puerto Rico. Resources hired will work in San Lorenzo temporarily until the Manatí Manufacturing Facility is operational.

Responsible for planning and coordinating the Maintenance function in a manufacturing environment. Plans, designs, and oversees the installation, reconfiguration, maintenance and alteration of manufacturing equipment and/or machinery. Maintains production equipment in compliance with QSR; safety, sanitation regulations and Ethicon’s standards.

You will:

  • Coordinates installation, testing and evaluation of new equipment to increase capacity and meet customer demands.

  • Provides expertise in troubleshooting situations to keep machines running and reduce downtime.

  • Develops preventive maintenance programs for all production equipment and oversees their implementation and execution.

  • Recommends updating and improving of capital equipment to increase capacity and attain CIP’s.

  • Keeps maintenance records of all production equipment in compliance with QSR, Company policies and Federal, State and Local government regulations.

  • Ensures production equipment is maintained in optimum condition and prevents deviations of PM program to comply with QSR, Company Policies and Procedures.

  • Supervises, mentors, develops, evaluates and coaches direct reports.

  • Supports manufacturing in the day-to-day troubleshooting situations and actively participates in Integrated Production Team’s (IPT).

  • Connects with appropriate manufacturing and engineering representatives to ensure operations and projects receive effective technical support.

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree with 6 years of related work experience or a Bachelors’ Degree with 4 years of related work experience will be required.

  • Supervisory experience (direct or indirect) is a plus.

  • Availability to various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Availability and flexibility to work in any of the three shifts is required. May require working / visiting all three shifts of the operation, working overtime and irregular hours.

  • Bilingual (Spanish & English), oral and written.

  • Advance computer skills and use of software application(s).

  • Basic or advanced database management skills preferred.

  • Requires proven initiative, creativity, assertiveness and leadership abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to work under pressure achieving consistently high results through individual and team efforts.

  • 10% Travel requirement between Ethicon Locations, Domestic and/or international travel.
