About the role:

Support LATAM region Indirect Tax matters, such as advise on new & existing business models, guide disclosures of important tax position in Indirect Tax Returns, supervise internal & eternal indirect tax audit/inquiry responses, support systems & process improvement projects, and collaborate with wider Global Tax Teams, across the globe.

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you can expect to:

  • Preparing and performing critical analysis on LATAM region indirect tax issue, utilizing tax technical rules to business environment.

  • Monitoring indirect tax developments (including on digital front) across the LATAM region, and analyzing impact of such changes on business operations.

  • Collaborating with business partners across the LATAM region to provide indirect tax advice for facilitating business needs, including greenfield expansion.

  • Guiding stakeholders for disclosure of critical Indirect tax issues for statutory reporting across LATAM region, such as indirect tax returns, Transfer Pricing studies, Annual Financial statements.

  • Supporting audits/litigations across the LATAM region, including supervising submissions made to the tax offices such as workpapers and calculations.

  • Supporting technology implementation and upgradations, process efficiencies, from an indirect tax perspective.

Financial and Accounting Systems: Knowledge of functions, features and capabilities of financial and accounting systems; ability to use financial and accounting applications specific to the organization.

  • Selects key business and technical contacts in the event of a production problem.

  • Works with a specific financial or accounting system and sub-systems.

  • Implements data flows between financial and accounting systems.

  • Utilizes operating requirements for the financial environment.

  • Coordinates major system interfaces and criticalities.

Tax Management: Knowledge of tax laws, organizational tax practices, obligations; ability to manage organization tax related issues.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Collects and prepares documentation for tax filing or tax defense activities.

  • Works with applying tax law to a specific industry or line of business.

  • Interprets and explains all locally relevant tax laws.

  • Documents government regulations that deal with organizational taxes.

  • Follows tax accounting practices and explains the rationale behind these practices.

Tax Operations: Knowledge of tax practices and regulations; ability to prepare and file federal, state and local tax returns.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Documents practices, standards and procedures for maintaining and reporting tax information.

  • Interprets and explains key tax-related documents and reports.

  • Utilizes basic tools to identify and gather the information necessary for preparing a tax return.

  • Participates in maintaining tax-related records for a specific area of the business.

  • Resolves common tax-related errors and problems.

Tax Regulations: Knowledge of federal, state and local tax procedures and regulations; ability to adhere to tax regulations when filing forms as they pertain to a particular business or industry.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Explains the impact of taxation on the organization's bottom line.

  • Prepares basic tax forms for filing.

  • Assists in analyzing tax liability in at least one area of the business.

  • Follows current general tax regulations as they pertain to own industry.

  • Clarifies the rationale behind specific tax rates and regulations.

Research Analysis: Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Researches and evaluates materials that are related to a research topic, under the guidance of a supervisor.

  • Reports on validity, relevance and accuracy issues.

  • Implements basic research analysis methods and techniques.

  • Uses published information to support new research.

  • Adheres to an organization's research analysis standards

What is Required

  • CPA or an equivalent University Masters Degree, preferably in tax/accounting

  • 7-10 years of tax experience, preferably with Big 4 consulting organizations

  • Fluent English

  • Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, good judgment and superior communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
