Overview

You will join the Human Factors & Experience Design (HFXD) team and help shape the OTTAVA™ and MONARCH™ surgical robotic systems.

As a Human Factors Engineer - User Requirements & Delivery Specialist, working under that guidance of a Human Factors Engineer - User Requirements & Delivery Manager you will be responsible for working as part of an integrated program team to identify and evolve all user interface requirements, deliver requirements-related HFXD feedback and impacts to the program team, and work closely with program personnel to ensure successful evolution and integration of all user interface requirements.

Responsibilities

  • With the guidance of more senior HFEs, work as an integrated part of program teams to review all program requirements and identify all that are user interface requirements.

  • Work as part of the HFXD Human Factors team to decompose and identify a verification method for each user interface requirement and incorporate HFXD verification methods and efforts into the programs’ timeline.

  • Deliver the HFXD Human Factors team feedback and impacts to the program teams and work closely with program personnel to ensure the successful evolution and integration of all user interface requirements.

  • Mentor and coach programs teams and HFXD team members to grow their understanding of how to address and integrate user requirements into processes and products.

Qualifications

Education

Required:

  • BS/BA Degree in Human Factors Engineering (HFE), Cognitive Science, Psychology, Industrial Engineering or equivalent is required.

Preferred:

  • Post-Graduate Degrees (MS, PhD) are a plus and will be considered as part of the applicant’s professional experience.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum Human Factors engineering experience: Bachelor’s plus 4 years, Master’s plus 2 years, PhD.

  • Knowledge and ability to integrate Human Factors as part of the System Engineering Process.

  • Knowledge in defining user interface requirements, decomposing those requirements, and assigning verification methods for each.

  • Experience working within an integrated program/product team.

  • Ability to demonstrate Human Factors skill level, methods, and processes.

  • Experience working with and shaping highly complex systems.

  • Familiarity with ISO and/or other relevant human factors regulations and standards.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the regulations of the medical, pharmaceutical, or aerospace industry.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment.

  • Exposure to requirements tracking software/tools.

Other:

  • This position is based in Santa Clara, CA and requires Ability up to 10%, international and domestic travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is [$119,500] to [$191,800]

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
