The Opportunity
We are seeking a Product Manager for our Abbott Vascular division located in Santa Clara, CA or St. Paul, MN. This is a fully onsite role.
A global leader in the interventional cardiovascular medical device industry, Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective cardiovascular technologies. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vascular closure devices and peripheral stents.
The Product Manager will manage a portfolio of products for our Endovascular division within Vascular.
This individual will lead downstream marketing initiatives and programs with a 360-surround sound execution approach. This will include implementation via the U.S. commercial organization, conferences, and digital media.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As the Product Manager , you will work to implement marketing and sales strategies for the leading vascular closure device in the market. Your work on this strategically significant product will help meet established sales or market share targets. You will be a key contributor in the development and execution of best-in-class plans utilizing deep market insights to drive innovative marketing campaigns. In this position, you will be regarded as a technical expert related to the product with broad knowledge of related fields. You will work closely with the U.S. commercial organization, internal stakeholders and external customers.
Position Accountability and Scope
Build, develop and execute downstream product-specific marketing strategy and tactical plans to drive U.S. marketing strategic objectives.
Collaborate with Marketing Communications to guide messaging, branding, and external communications efforts. Plan and execute multi-channel marketing programs and campaigns.
Develop, manage, and implement sales promotional pieces to support business strategy. Create sales tools for effective customer communications (brochures, presentations, messaging, sales aids and other media).
Conduct market research and thoroughly understand competitive offerings to guide competitive strategy and provide sales force with appropriate positioning and tools to differentiate product(s) versus the competition in a profitable manner that adds value to the customer.
Participate in and support regional meetings, national sales meetings and tradeshows to drive customer adoption. Gather information and develop deep knowledge of the customer experience through informal and formal means such as spending time in the field with customers and sales personnel.
Support the U.S. commercial organization on day-to-day activities; serve as product expert, assist with troubleshooting, and support demo activities.
Manage conference activities, create symposia presentations, and build relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL) to drive customer engagement.
Support product launch planning and execution. Work closely with Global Marketing, Marketing Communications, Program Management, R&D, and Sales Training to assess launch timelines, develop marketing claims, create launch collaterals, design training materials, and support sales force training. Collaborate with sales management to develop and execute product launches and marketing strategies.
Manage external agency relationships to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and use appropriate data to measure effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Assist with budget management.
Collaborate with Commercial Excellence and Marketing Intelligence to monitor sales volume, revenues, and quarterly share performance.
Work with Demand Planning to prepare sales forecasts and adjust according to performance.
Comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements, including company policies, operating procedures, processes, task assignments.
Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
4+ years of product management/marketing experience required (or master’s degree/MBA with 2+ years' experience).
Product management experience in medical products or services.
Strong presentation & communication skills, strategic planning, critical thinking and analysis of market conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical device industry strongly preferred.
Proven track record of successful project management and simultaneous execution of multiple projects
Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a teammate in a fast-paced, high-visibility, collaborative environment
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills along with interpersonal skills to communicate with team members, other departments, upper management, commercial organization and consumers of the company’s products
Strong organizational, prioritization and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Strong analytical and computer skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to quickly learn technical aspects of the product portfolio and serve as a resource for the field sales
Natural tendency to be curious, positive, and creative
Sincere empathy for the customer and a commitment to delving deep into the challenges they present or experience
Willing to travel 30%

The base pay for this position is $112,000.00 – $224,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
