We are searching for the best talent for a Software Engineer’s position, to be located in Santa Clara, CA.

Purpose: The Software Engineer - Diagnostic Software, plays a key role in crafting a software ecosystem used to develop, analyze, visualize, simulate and test the robotic surgical system. We are looking for a Full Stack developer who can work independently and function well within a team. They are flexible, self-motivated, curious and passionate about revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.

You will be responsible for:

  • Design and implement software frameworks, applications and tools in Python and C++ which interact directly with the robot

  • Write Full Stack applications for test automation

  • Develop and present training materials to help end users understand how to use the team's software

  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • 3+ years of work experience developing software in a corporate environment.

  • Experience in Python design and coding skills.

  • Experience in Typescript.

  • Experience with Git.

  • Experience with Docker and Bash scripting.

  • Experience with unit testing frameworks.

  • Experience in databases (SQL or NoSQL).

  • Experience developing and debugging complex, distributed, software.

  • Proficiency in developing software in a Linux environment.

  • Collaborative teammate with excellent written and in-person communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in MongoDB.

  • Experience with web development such as React.

  • Basic understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry like medical devices.

  • Experience in test automation.

  • Experience in data-pipelining and dashboard creation.

  • Participation in coding boot camps or relevant internships is a plus.

  • Projects or coursework demonstrating practical software development experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestic US and Internationally, with overnight stay.

  • Ability to work 5 days a week onsite at the J&J office in Santa Clara, CA

For the California Bay Area, the anticipated base pay range for this position is $101,000 to $162,725

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
