Purpose :

The Senior Finance Analyst Monarch plays a crucial role in driving the financial health and growth of the company. This position involves analyzing financial data, creating budgetary plans, and providing strategic recommendations to support informed decision-making by senior management. This Business Unit Finance specialist collaborates with various departments including Service, US Commercial, and R&D to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment of financial strategies with business goals.

You will be responsible for :

  • Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to assess the company's performance, identify trends, and provide insights to optimize financial strategies.

  • Analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability, offering actionable recommendations for improvement.

  • Partner closely with Service, US Commercial, R&D, Marketing, Strategic Customer Group Finance, Demand Planning and more to understand strategies, the market & customer insights, competitive landscape; synthesize and provide financial updates across multiple levels of the organization.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts aligned with business objectives.

  • Monitor budget adherence and provide variance analysis, explaining discrepancies and proposing corrective actions as needed.

  • Assist in creating long-term financial plans that support sustainable growth.

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and support period close activities in accordance to SOX, WWP's and internal policies, procedures and compliance

  • Prepare and present financial analyses to management and stakeholders of sales trends, key performance measurements, dashboards, Dept Budget variance, platform P&L’s, pricing analytics with clear and actionable commentary conveying complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner

  • Business Partnering:

  • This position requires daily interaction with senior management to provide business and finance insights in a highly dynamic environment.

  • Business partners work in conjunction with the Finance team to provide analysis to drive insights that shape the business and network strategies.

  • This role is highly visible and works closely with Senior Leadership supporting Monarch platform and expansion

  • Strategic Planning:

  • Work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.

  • Provide insights and recommendations for resource allocation, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify potential financial risks and propose strategies to mitigate them.

  • Serve as liaison between business unit partners and cross functional teams such as selling, marketing, supply chain, R&D and HR

  • Financial Modeling:

  • Build and maintain financial models to project various scenarios and evaluate potential outcomes. Identification and/or participation in the implementation of process improvements and standardization of activities

  • Use financial models to support decision-making, such as pricing strategies, capital allocation, and investment decisions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with various departments, such as sales, marketing, operations, Quality, PCM, Regulatory and HR, to gather data and insights for financial analysis.

  • Drive long-term integration of newly acquired businesses into broader Ethicon and JnJ processes

  • Provide financial expertise and guidance to colleagues in different departments, fostering a culture of financial awareness.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA, CPA and/or CMA preferred

  • 5 years of progressive finance experience is preferred, with majority in analytics-heavy roles.

  • Hands-on experience using SAP S4 Hana and Alteryx is preferred. PowerBI/Tableau and the ability to build simple dataflows is a plus

  • Proven track record of working in complex environments where a high degree of collaboration and initiative is needed, ability to think analytically and lead collaboratively with finance and non-finance partners

  • The individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement improvements in execution, work independently and handle several tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to express insights in a succinct and impactful way.

  • This role will be based out Santa Clara CA

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

89,000-142,600

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
