The position of Production Maintenance Superviso r is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located at Scarborough, Maine . This role will supervise the maintenance department technician’s daily activities to ensure that day to day maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company standards. This role will work closely with production management to effectively prioritize daily work activities to accomplish daily production and maintenance objectives. Provide training to maintenance technicians for repairs and maintenance on Production equipment along with overall system operation and trouble shooting and diagnosis. Serve as the lead technical resource

for maintenance department in trouble shooting and repair efforts.

Schedule: Rotating Day Shift Schedule:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Daily supervision of the maintenance department.

  • Coordinates support/resources for production and non-production work activities.

  • Appraises performance of direct reports inclusive of annual performance reviews.

  • Participates, or assigns designee, to support new equipment purchases, design modifications, and validation efforts as necessary/requested.

  • Leads routine, periodic and special inspections to determine repairs needed or corrective actions taken to prevent breakdowns, unsafe conditions or to comply with Company and/or Agency Rules and Regulations.

  • Performs Production Equipment change-over as dictated by schedule or requested by shift supervisor (as needed or directed to best meet departmental objectives).

  • Interprets blueprints, equipment manuals, layouts and wiring diagrams.

  • Leads the effort of preparing documentation regarding Preventive Maintenance and Machine Operation through effective communication and collaboration with Production Supervisors, Manager and Engineering

  • Sets up and operates all equipment needed to perform assigned tasks.

  • Escorts and assists as necessary, outside repair persons in the performance of their contractual obligations. Escorts Agency testing technicians to assure timely completion of their tasks as it relates to production equipment.

  • Maintains appropriate records, keeps inventory of spare parts and shop materials to effect proper repairs on all equipment.

  • Responds to alarm or trouble calls as required and maintains a strong floor presence.

  • Functions as a key member of both the production & maintenance team and assists as necessary to accomplish production goals, and through-put initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises employees in Production Maintenance. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • 5+ years’ experience as an electromechanical technician, experience with automation in the medical field.

  • 5+ years of machining experience in a machine shop or equipment manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on electro-mechanical repair, rebuild, field service experience.

Preferred

  • Technical Certificate as a Electro-Mechanical Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician or a Technical Degree in Precision Machining and Manufacturing, Automotive Repair, or related technical field.

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience

  • 5+ years of diverse experience in high volume production setting.

  • Prior experience working in a company operating under ISO, FDA, or similar quality systems or regulations

The base pay for this position is $31.55 – $63.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
