The FP&A Manager is a key leadership role supporting the Industrial Power Systems Division within Caterpillar. This position supports the business through monthly financial reporting, planning / forecasting, period cost governance, and overall business support. This position also provides leadership to multiple direct reports and dotted line team members who support the consolidations of our global business unit results.

The Industrial Power Systems Division is responsible for the design, manufacture, and sales of world class diesel and alternative power engines and power solutions. Our customers are diverse and work within many industries including construction, electric power, agriculture, and mining. We are headquartered out of Schertz, Texas (San Antonio area) with operations all over the globe.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead two direct reports and two dotted line reports focused on providing insights on the Industrial Power Systems’ financial results to assist senior management with business decisions.

  • Lead collaboration across our lower-level business units to enable business insights and financial support to Industrial Power Systems.

  • Lead efforts to implement period cost governance to support execution of annual business plan.

  • Upon request, take part in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.

  • Champion the use of new technologies and tools for analyzing financial data and driving efficiency improvements to monthly / forecasting processes.

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience : This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 6+ years of job-related experience

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.

  • Financial Reporting : Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Axiom and Power BI knowledge

  • CMA or CPA

  • MBA or Masters Degree in Accounting (or equivalent)

  • The primary location for this position is Schertz, TX (San Antonio area)

  • International and Domestic travel up to 5%

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
