This job contributes to Starbucks success by applying knowledge and techniques to build partnerships, with a focus on business priorities and leadership’ while managing executives' workflow and priorities to support the Starbucks Mission and Values. This role will provide advanced support of a highly confidential and complex nature to the executive vice president of Law and Corporate Affairs – exercising independent judgment and discretion in making decisions. This role will plan, implement, and direct multiple concurrent activities that support company and department programs, processes and objectives. The executive assistant communicates with both internal and external customers, including high level executives. This role models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles .

As an executive assistant, you will…

  • Acts as a trusted point of contact and confidently manages communications on behalf of the executive and the organization. Displays courage, empathy, humility, and isn't afraid to lean into a challenge.

  • Understands business model and strategy, leverages business acumen and project management skills to support executive with priorities and deliverables.

  • Collaborates with admin team on shared goals to further support the business unit and proactively ghostwrites for leader in order to navigate and support deliverables.

  • Understands rhythm of business to anticipate executive's needs and leverages process management skills to prioritize according to business priorities, cascades information to admin team.

  • Leads highly complex projects and events, creates and shares best practices and identifies new opportunities to improve operational efficiencies across the team (i.e. T2T, Immersions, SLT+ events).

  • Demonstrates confidentiality while managing leaders' emails and implementing cascade of sensitive information (e.g. organizational communication cascade "ticktock").

  • Develops, refines or establishes new processes continuously to promote operational efficiencies across teams, proactively makes decisions to address team needs before they arise or matters continue to grow.

  • Adapts to senior executive's workstyle confidently and highly focused on executives' success to build a strong partnership.

  • Acts as a trusted resource and advocate for admin team, leads best practices, provides executive assistant senior back-up and volunteers support where needed and consults on admin org design to build experience for growth and development.

  • Understands rhythm of business to anticipate executive's needs and leverages process management skills to prioritize according to business priorities, cascades information to admin team.

  • Provides mentorship and guidance and is respected as a leader within the team.

  • Creates an inclusive, positive, and productive team environment while acting as mentor for admin peers and team.

  • Seeks to improve skills proactively and facilitates and trains where possible.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Progressive administrative experience or Starbucks store manager experience. (7+ years)

  • Experience managing calendars and email on MS Outlook (7+ years)

  • Project or event management (7+ years)

  • Domestic and international travel arrangement (7+ years)

  • Expert level proficiency with Microsoft 360 applications

  • Adaptability - able to execute with flexibility in responding to constantly changing environment.

  • Collaboration - demonstrate confidence, composure and professionalism; able to build trust with internal and external customers.

  • Communication - able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbal and written with attention to details

  • Customer Service - demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude with the desire to take on additional responsibilities, consistently delivers high quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Organization - excellent organizational skills and high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information with superior attention to detail

  • Problem Solving - critical thinking and strong analytical skills; able to proactively anticipate needs and use sound judgment.

  • Technology - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and virtual tools.

  • Time Management - able to balance multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
