Job Summary:
The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician II position in Seguin, TX. As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician II, you will perform the duties associated and assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering team.
What you will do:
Audit, validate, and perform root cause analysis and address problems in the assembly planning, tooling, and manufacturing standards, capital expense tooling and equipment and facility layout and digital twin systems
Maintain awareness of technological advances in processing, automation of assembly/material movement and/or machine capability. You’ll use the knowledge to provide input into project assignments.
Analyze and investigate shop problems and follow-up on recommendations
Assists with more complex issues related to process improvements, capital requirements, developing systems or databases, and equipment and systems integration
Design to maintain, improve, and validate manufacturing engineering processes such as process design, facility layout, standardized work instructions, simulations, virtual modeling, test, manufacturing releasing and production order readiness
Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties
Basic Qualifications:
Proficient in reading Engineering drawings/blueprints and reviewing 3D models
Experience in assembly processes and best practices, test processes, and validation to manufacture diesel fuel engines
Experience with basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, depth gages)
Familiarity using data collection systems (such as Quality WorX and Tools Talk)
Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook experience
2-year degree or at least 2+ years of quality or diesel assembly experience
Self-Starter
BIQ methodology knowledge and proven application
Basic Plex knowledge to resolve point of use documentation issues
Top Candidates will also have:
Intermediate level proficiency using ERP/PLM systems such as PLEX and Teamcenter
3+ years of experience of quality or diesel assembly
Intermediate level proficiency in technical engineering support on an assembly shop floor
Experience with a Materials and Manufacturing Management System
Quality Experience in a diesel assembly/machine facility
Experience performing virtual build modelling using 3D models.
Diesel assembly experience in a leadership type role (Team Lead, Project lead, Lean Lead)
Six Sigma/Lean experience as either a team member or Green Belt certified.
Experience in leading projects or supervision (direct or indirect)
Experience executing SFMEA updates with very limited supervision
Experience creating new tools/fixtures and setting them up for the line
Experience of problem-solving skills with proven results
Experience collaborating on addressing documentation issues

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
