Job Description:

You are:

An experienced Site Reliability Engineer who will lead Pitney Bowes' digital transformation efforts in Observability and Automation. Your expertise in monitoring systems, infrastructure automation, and cloud services will be crucial as you optimize performance and support application teams across our development and production environments.

You will:

  • Lead the transformation to modernize Observability, Tools & Automation Services at Pitney Bowes by leveraging cutting-edge technologies

  • Lead the development of a single pane of glass monitoring solution

  • Monitor and resolve incidents using monitoring and logging tools

  • Automate infrastructure and deployment tasks using Ansible and Terraform

  • Support day-to-day operations for cloud services, open-source applications, and business systems

  • Help application teams leverage automated infrastructure and provide development and production support

  • Write Python, Bash, and Ruby scripts to automate tasks

  • Configure, maintain, and monitor metrics, logs, and traces across distributed systems

Your background:

As an SRE Observability and Automation Engineer, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and other public cloud providers

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud/hybrid networking operations with expertise in protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS), network security policies, and troubleshooting

  • 5+ years of experience with Observability platforms (LogicMonitor, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)

  • 5+ years of experience with logging tools (ELK Stack, Loki, Splunk, or similar)

  • 5+ years of hands-on automation experience using Ansible/Terraform

  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, GitLab, or similar)

  • 5+ years of experience with Python, Bash, or Ruby scripting

  • Hands-on experience creating dashboards and monitoring service health

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and performance metrics

  • Experience with APM tools

  • Experience supporting development and production environments

  • Experience with ITIL practices

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Grafana

  • Public cloud certifications (AWS, Azure)

Compensation:

The wage range for this position is $143,000 to $178,000 per year, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements and the location where you will be performing the job. This position may be eligible to earn an annual incentive bonus.

Location:

This will be a Hybrid role. This position currently works four (4) days out of our Shelton, CT office with the option to work from home one (1) day per week. This hybrid status may change based on business need.
