BASIC PURPOSE

Responsible for processes and activities to ensure production demands are achieved while producing safe, quality food.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for safely shuttling full and empty trailers to and from various loading dock doors

  • Maintain yard organization with regards to tractors, trailers, and equipment.

  • Perform dock work at times when yard work is complete

  • Efficiently and accurately stage trailers for loading and transport while ensuring proper temperature control

  • Performs safety checks and inspections

  • Secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift

  • Move trailers and fill up with fuel as needed

  • Properly seal trailers and complete necessary documentation

  • Ensure conformance to company standards and customer specifications

  • Assist in cleanliness of general work area including the lot and tractor

  • Comply with food safety practices and all applicable requirements as they pertain to SQF and that are maintained

  • Support company driven food safety improvement initiatives

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by managers

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal : Frontline Leaders, Operations, production management, peers, co-workers

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work continually in refrigerated environment 35° F– 45° F degrees

  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to work overtime as needed with or without notice

EDUCATION / TRAINING

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Basic Reading, Writing, and Math Skills

RELATED EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a Class A CDL and a satisfactory motor vehicle record

  • Ability to work days and hours that can change on a regular basis

  • Scanner experience preferred

  • Previous forklift experience helpful

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Positive attitude

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time

  • Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse environment

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities for described length of time.
