Lockheed Martin Space has a great opportunity for a Quality Engineer supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missiles Group within Quality located in Silverdale, WA. In this role, you will perform Quality Assurance tasks as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) in support of ordnance production operations. You will collaborate with engineering to approve MRB dispositions.

You will have a diverse array of responsibilities:

o Develop and/or assess solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate to difficult complexity involving multiple engineering disciplines.

o Exercise technical responsibility and authority to review and sign waivers and deviations involved in Missile assembly, disassembly, testing and repair. This involves review, categorization and disposition of non-conforming items, initiation and accomplishment of corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and ensuring approval.

o Provide routine liaison between Lockheed Martin and its customers to ensure quality requirements are met.

o Support audits of Quality Management Systems, closed loop corrective action, and root cause analysis.

o Entails working in a team environment to close audit findings.

o Performs metrics and data analysis to ensure quality goals are met and contributes to process improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (i.e. engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g. math, physics, chemistry), with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Demonstrated analytical capabilities.

Interim Security clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and US Citizenship required. No dual citizenship.

Ability to support a flexible schedule including: work 2nd shift (swings), weekends or if required on call to support operations. Currently swing shift support, weekend and on call support is not planned, but the ability to be flexible is important.

Desired Skills:

Previous experience with space/aerospace.

Experience with an AS9100-based Quality Management System plan or audit.

Experience using one or more of the following: Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, Metric Analysis, Continuous Improvement.

Experience with Configuration Management tools SAP/ERP, and EPDM.

Ability to evaluate product conformance to requirements.

Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.

Experience communicating to and influencing others in a concise, data driven manner.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint.
