Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health (JJCH) is currently recruiting a Communications Manager for Global Brand PR. This role supports the Global Leader for Brand PR and the Consumer Health Leadership Team in developing and executing communications strategies that build and protect reputation. The position is based in Skillman, NJ.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving holistic communications for our global brands, Consumer Health sector and leadership. Acting as a strategic counselor to business partners and teams on external communications you will be part of a high-energy team responsible for developing intentional, high impact public relations plans and strategies that deliver against sector and brand growth goals. In addition, the Communications Manager will support the Office of Marketing Value, and will drive effective communications in partnership with Consumer Health Communications.
Act as a strategic business partner and counsel teams on external communications for the Consumer Health sector, leaders and global brands.
Lead the development and execution of external communications and engagement strategies on the Consumer Health LinkedIn page, including content development, storytelling and synchronization with Johnson & Johnson HR/Talent Acquisition and regional communication leads.
Maintain a deep understanding of the global media landscape (traditional and social) including emerging trends. Based on this understanding, you will find opportunities and craft PR recommendations for the team's consideration.
Work with the Global Leader for Brand PR to create global strategies for milestone news stories across Consumer Health by monitoring and mining for stories across the sector, draft messaging, train and handle spokespersons.
Act as a connector between local and regional communication teams around the globe. Identify and share out best-in-class PR work and set team trainings to elevate the team's skills and value to the organization.
Be comfortable working in a highly-matrixed organization and able to prioritize your workload to deliver the greatest impact to the business.
Show curiosity and passion in telling stories about our company and brands that will generate earned media.
Able to write message maps that are supported by new research and can be adapted for various spokespersons, including: executive leadership, marketing teams and R&D
Build strong working relationships with cross-functional internal and external partners (e.g., marketing, professional, R&D, sales, social, e-commerce, etc.).
Extend external visibility for our business leaders, by identifying and vetting external appearances and preparing leaders for interviews and external speaking events
Protect the reputation of our brands by providing strategic counsel on PR and influencer marketing strategies. As needed, partner with Global Public Affairs and Issues/Media team on crafting appropriate responses
Develop internal communication plans to engage and excite employees
Promote a team environment of engagement, Credo leadership and inclusion; differentiating Consumer Health as the “best place” to work.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 6+ years of experience in Communications with experience developing and delivering Brand PR strategy for consumer packaged-goods brands
Successful track record in brand public relations / communication, corporate communication, product approval and launch communication support and/or media relations
Capable of establishes relationships across teams – spanning global geographies – and working up, down and laterally across the organization
Capable of telling stories through various influential voices (i.e., executives, physicians and third parties/advocacy groups)
Experience working in a matrix environment and driving results through influence
Expert judgment with critical decision-making skills
Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills
While initially remote, this position will work out of the Skillman, NJ office and may require up to 10% domestic travel.
Experience within a Public Relations agency
Experience with digital/social media content development, traditional media, trade media
