Location: Skillman, NJ Kenvue’s corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.

What you will do

We are seeking a passionate and influential Global Packaging Innovation professional to join our R&D team. In this role you will be responsible for developing innovative packaging strategies with a strong focus on sustainability to deliver superior consumer experiences through human centered innovation, creating opportunities that will win new consumers every day.

Embracing our Healthy Lives Mission commitment, the Global Packaging Innovation Engineer will be responsible for developing brand portfolio technical glidepaths and guide project teams with future-fit packaging solutions that meet our business objectives while minimizing our environmental impact and driving brand growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a change agent. Develop 3-5 year packaging roadmaps and implement global innovation strategies for benefit-led innovation platforms

  • Lead feasibility of new global packaging technologies that bring new value to the global brand portfolio.

  • Conduct research and development of innovative sustainable packaging materials and technologies, recycled plastics, renewable feedstocks, and recyclable formats.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders by setting priority workstreams to drive packaging agenda

  • Foster supplier joint-value ecosystem to develop conceptual formats, material feasibility, and product experience differentiation

  • Bring an outside-in focus: Open innovation scouting and technology integration through the latest trends and foresight in the packaging industry to guide future-fit packaging portfolios

  • Influence brand growth by exploring new formats, propose business models, and bring forward sustainable innovation for people and planet benefit

  • Drive holistic packaging development through collaborations with consumer insight teams, design, and new value propositions for brands and consumers.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • 5 years of experience in packaging innovation, material design, supplier co-creation, and with a consistent track record of bringing new products to market demonstrating differentiating technologies

  • Technical-based degree required, preferrably packaging or mechanical engineering

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Extensive working knowledge of packaging materials and technologies, recycled and recyclable content, sustainable packaging practices, the circular economy, lifecycle assessments, sustainability metrics and the impact on the environment

  • Deep understanding of consumer, business, and brands needs and the relationship to packaging decisions & execution.

  • An entrepreneurial approach that turns insights into product opportunities
