Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc., a member of The Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Franchise Quality position. This position will be located at the J&J site in Skillman, NJ.

The Senior Manager, Franchise Quality is the lead of R&D Quality & Compliance (Q&C) activities for skin health and essential health franchises in North America. Drives an integrated and comprehensive quality monitoring system for GMP, GLP, Analytical and Micro activities including quality reviews of key documents; review of metrics and support of CAPA activities for Non-conformances/Deviations, Audits, Change Control, and Health Authority inspection activities, and evaluation/implementation of corrective and preventative actions for efficiency; review of activities to ensure ongoing inspection readiness. Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of departmental results and management of CAPAs/NCs/audit observations.


  • Function as a quality advisor concerning Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and provides appropriate compliance guidance to business and functional partners.

  • Lead collection of data relevant to quality metrics reporting.

  • Act as a single point of contact for assigned site(s) and ensures appropriate critical issues are addressed.

  • Lead efforts for maintaining processes and guidelines and participates in improvement projects, decision-making, recruitment, resource assessments, budget management and performance evaluations.

  • Assist North America Regional Franchise Quality Lead with setting interdepartmental and cross-functional strategic goals.

  • Develop employees and building proficiencies on team to meet future business needs.

  • Provide ongoing mentoring and coaching of team. Ensures staff are trained on procedures and systems associated with their assigned tasks. Perform administrative and personnel related tasks.

  • Provide strategic direction of key activities, lead quality monitoring and assessment programs to maintain compliance with company/division policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify innovative compliance solutions to address project and process challenges.

  • Deploy resources and anticipate needs of franchise and organization.

  • Participate on R&D compliance committees and address issues appropriately.

  • Collaborate across regions and franchises within Quality Management Systems (QMS) to evaluate trends and develop and implement action plans.

  • Interpret regulations to provide risk analysis guidance and make decisions about R&D GxP activities as they apply to products, processes, practices, and procedures.

  • Be an ambassador for change and promote the implementation and maintenance of processes and systems to meet the changing regulatory environment.

  • Provide support for audits and inspections as member of audit support team.

  • Participate in business activities relating to Health Authority inspections/company audits, collaborating closely with other functions as appropriate.

  • Allocate and balance resources across opposing priorities; find opportunities and solutions, and coach others to do the same.

  • Provide guidance, collaborate, negotiate, and optimally mentor and lead team and others to ensure an ongoing state of compliance. Strong people management experience.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relative business experience in an FDA regulated industry.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a People Leader/Management role.

  • Experience with applicable regulatory requirements (cGMPs and cGLPs) governing various product classification types (Cosmetic, OTC/OTC Monograph and Medical Devices).

  • Experience conducting and hosting Audits.

  • Experience leading complex and/or strategic projects.

  • This position may require to up 25% domestic travel.


  • Experience with overall product development process.

  • Excellent knowledge of procedures governing R&D GMP, Analytical/Micro and GLP activities.

  • Experience in Cosmetic and/or Personal Care Product Industry.
