The Senior Financial Analyst will provide finance business partnering and support to newer platforms to the Ethicon portfolio, focusing on project analytics and budgets. This position reports to an Ethicon Innovation Finance Sr. Manager.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Partnering with R&D and cross-functional leaders in the platform, to support strategy execution, prioritize investments, optimize innovation portfolio and ensure performance metrics are met or exceeded
S/he will prepare and present financial analysis including, budgets, key performance metrics, dashboards, platform P&L’s, etc. for platform leadership and lead planning, budgeting, reporting and compliance
S/he will support pipeline projects and present key financial product overviews to sponsor teams, innovation councils, & finance leadership. Develop and/or review financial models for reasonableness & validate other P&L assumptions.
Lead forecasting, planning, latest thinking processes as well as monthly and quarterly closing activities related to expense, i.e. close journal entries, intercompany cross charges, balance sheet reconciliations, headcount reporting, variance reporting, etc. Review of monthly Actuals and project spending analysis with business leadership.
Participate with partners to identify risks and mitigation strategies related to investments
Support ad hoc projects and requests needed for Business and Finance Leadership.
Identification and/or participation in the implementation of process improvements/standardization of activities
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Finance or Accounting.
An MBA, CPA, CMA, and/or other financial certifications are preferred.
Experience with SAP and TM1 is preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years of finance and accounting experience is required.
Candidate must possess excellent analytical (MS Excel), conceptual, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The ability to think creatively and work in a team environment is required.
Individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement improvements in execution, work independently and handle several tasks simultaneously.
Ability to optimally communicate and influence others at all levels within a matrixed organization is required
This position is located in Somerville, NJ; Cincinnati, OH; and may require up to 10% travel.
