Caterpillar is looking for a Category Buyer for its Sosnowiec facility. What Will You Do:

  • Develop, manage, and execute the category strategy managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs.

  • Recognize the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions, quality improvement, and responsibility for the soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.

  • Act as the liaison between the organization and the supplier to communicate information explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers' conditions.

  • Document the suppliers' performance on time sensitiveness and production; maintaining a strong relationship with suppliers.

  • Be responsible for contract management for all categories in your team

What You Will Have:

  • Degree of higher education or equivalent experience in procurement

  • Ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner

  • Ability to transform numerical data into business insight

  • Great communication skills both in English and Polish

  • Working knowledge of policies, standards, and processes of how to manage and administer contracts

  • Self-driven attitude to work individually and take ownership of existing processes

  • Proactive thinking
