Join us as a Lead Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in the development of an innovative cheminformatics platform, crafted through an exciting collaboration between R&D Business Technology and In Silico Discovery (ISD). This platform will further enhance the impact of AI/ML and advanced analytics in our drug discovery processes and accelerate timelines by improved, data-driven decision-making. Your main focus will be to design, build, and maintain a configurable, usable, and scalable innovative software platform that enables scientists to harness technology optimally in their research. This platform will act as a virtual lab, ultimately driving innovation and discovery forward. Primary responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain our cloud native cheminformatics solution, using languages and frameworks such as Python, Django, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with direct code contributions
Collaborate with data product owners, data scientists, analysts, architects, and other partners to understand platform requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions
Build integrations with High Performance Computing (HPC) and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) platforms
Optimize software architecture and implementation for usability, performance, scalability, and reliability
Monitor and solve platform issues, ensuring timely resolution
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience required
Required:
Proficiency in back-end development in Python and with frameworks like Django or Flask
Skilled in using AWS or other cloud providers to deliver containerized web applications
Skilled in web front end development, including JavaScript / Typescript and at least one front-end framework such as React or Angular
Experience in agile development, including test automation and CI/CD
Proficiency in supporting, optimizing, and debugging sophisticated software products
A record of effective collaboration with diverse team members
Preferred:
Demonstrated ability to develop full stack software for configurable, cloud native platforms
Experience with Kubernetes and Helm
Experience developing configurable software products
Familiarity integrating HPC and/or MLOps tools
Experience working in healthcare or another regulated industry
The anticipated base pay range for this position in the US is $115,000 to $197,800.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
