Janssen Research & Development L.L.C. develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide. Research and development areas encompass novel targets in neurological disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, diabetes, hematology, metabolic disorders, immunology disorders, and reproductive medicine.
We are looking for a Scientist to support small molecule and peptide drug discovery and development programs with (drug) transporter related questions. Specifically, you will work with project teams to understand what data are needed to drive transporter related strategies and decisions from early discovery through to the clinic. A significant part of your responsibilities will be to generate and interpret data, collaborate with contract laboratories, and communicate results to project teams across therapeutic areas, and management. We are a highly motivated team and our laboratories are state of the art. As part of the global transporter community, you will have access to a large arsenal of in vitro and in vivo tools and the fast expertise of colleagues at our various research sites in the US and Belgium.
In addition, you will be shaping the future of the Janssen transporter strategy by building and implementing novel experimental and data analysis approaches to improve our capabilities to establish in vitro-in vivo correlations. You are expected to be recognized in the field of drug transporters through for instance publications, external presentations and/or membership of consortia.
- A PhD is required, in Pharmacology, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related field.
- Currently in a PhD program with an anticipated graduation / completed degree by Summer, 2021.
Master’s degree is required, with at least 3 or more years of related experience.
Experience and specific focus on transporter research is required.
Experience in cell culture and general molecular biology techniques is required.
An understanding of DMPK principles and the development of translational PK/PD approaches would be preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication, and teamwork skills is required.
