Role Profile
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing Project Management & Engineering technical support during the design, construction and documentation phases of capital projects.
Responsibilities
Implement projects as a project manager while providing mechanical engineering expertise for small to mid-size capital and non-capital projects using Eastman World Class Project Management process
Define scope and alternatives for capital projects and provide engineering support from feasibility, front end engineering, construction, and project start up
Design, specify, install and troubleshoot process modifications and equipment for projects
Lead cross functional teams comprised of Eastman and Outside Contracted engineers while being able to work individually
Provide CMR (contractor management representative) support to assure oversight of job execution
Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing operations, trouble-shoot upset situations and support maintenance shutdowns
Investigate, recommend and implement new technology for continuous improvements
Provide technical support via on-call support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum of 7 years related Project Engineering experience
Knowledge of Project Management processes
Demonstrated Leadership Skills in managing cross functional project teams
Ability to manage multiply projects at once
Good communication, technical, and organizational skills
High degree of initiative to drive projects through from feasibility to startup
Ability to contribute individually and in a team environment
Management of Change experience
Process Safety Management experience, is a plus
