The Opportunity

This EHR Connectivity Operations Application Analyst position works out of the Minneapolis, MN location in the Medical Devices Digital Solutions organization.

The EHR Connectivity Operations Application Analyst reports to the Senior Manager, EHR Connectivity Operations. This individual will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between user requirements and technology solutions by contributing to the design, implementation and maintenance of internal applications that are critical for integrations between Abbott’s medical device platforms and our customers EHRs. The role will be responsible for configuring necessary components and parameters to enable desired data flows. The role will work with cross functional technical and commercial teams within Abbott along with our customers IT and clinical team members to execute implementation projects on time and with high quality.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Collaborate with cross functional internal technical and commercial teams along with customers IT and clinical teams.

  • Configure and modify software applications based on design specifications.

  • Customize off-the-shelf software to meet specific business requirements.

  • Plan and conduct thorough testing of applications to ensure functionality, performance, and security.

  • Identify and address any bugs or issues through debugging and troubleshooting.

  • Oversee the deployment of applications and software updates.

  • Provide training to end-users on how to effectively use the applications.

  • Provide production support.

  • Offer ongoing support to address user concerns, troubleshoot issues, and optimize user experience.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of applications, including technical specifications, user manuals, and system changes.

  • Work closely with other IT professionals, such as software developers, database administrators, and system analysts, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the performance and efficiency of existing applications.

  • Ensure applications comply with security policies and standards while implementing measures to safeguard sensitive data and information.

  • Evaluate and recommend third-party applications as needed.

  • Ensure high customer satisfaction by ensuring all customer engagements are executed on time with high quality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Management or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years in either a health system or health technology company.

  • Recognized experience leading complex system and risk analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and utilize data to make decisions and influence stakeholders

  • Experience with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, etc.

  • Understanding of clinical libraries such as SNOMED, LOINC, ICD, RxNorm, etc.

  • Experience in system analysis and design methodologies.

  • Proficient in application testing methodologies and tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in a rapidly changing IT landscape.

  • Ability to distill complex information into concise, impactful communications to both internal and external customers/stakeholders, often in a matrix environment.

  • Knowledge of Product Risk Management Best Practices and Tools

Preferred :

  • High level understanding of healthcare integration patterns and standards such as HL7 v2 and FHIR.

  • EHR Application Certifications such as EpicCare Ambulatory, Epic Prelude

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.

  • Knowledge of server configurations, networking, and cloud computing.

  • HL7 Certification (v2, CCDA and/or FHIR)

  • Demonstratable problem solving ability of highly complex issues, which requires critical assessment of potential impact on multiple interested parties. The candidate must be proactive in issue identification, analysis, course correction and resolution.

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
