The Opportunity

This position works out of our St. Paul, MN location in the Electrophysiology division.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

What You’ll Work On

You will be responsible for implementing a marketing and sales strategy for one or more of the organization's more complex, controversial, or strategically significant products/services in order to meet established sales or market share targets.

  • Conduct market research, oversee product development and design, set prices, launch new products, oversee advertising campaigns, and monitor sales performance to effectively market assigned products/services.

  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate domestic and international market trends, consumer behavior and competitor activity to identify market opportunities for the product/service.

  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate product performance and customer feedback to generate new product ideas.

  • Identify product/service changes to meet customer needs.

  • Liaise with other areas of the organization (e.g., production, R&D) to implement these changes.

  • Prepare sales forecasts and budgets.

  • Monitor sales volume, revenues and costs against forecasts.

  • Adapt plans to improve the sales performance of the product/service.

  • Liaise with advertising and promotions specialists to design sales campaigns and sales collateral for the product/service that are effective and appropriate for the target audience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree.

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or technology-based products.

  • 2+ years minimum of marketing experience.

  • Experience working with complex product portfolios in the medical device industry.

  • Experience with strategic product planning and commercial execution.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills/experience, including the ability to map task interdependencies, prioritize such tasks, and develop, monitor and live within budgets as well as the demonstrated ability to forecast major milestones.

  • Understanding of both the technology and capabilities of the Division’s products, market and customer dynamics, and functional operations across departments.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines in timely manner.

  • Exhibit: Positive attitude, leadership, desire and ability to lead the organization to ensure goals achievement, deep understanding of the complexities of market and customer needs, ability to develop, rationalize, and present strategy, strong analytical and computer skills, with working knowledge of financial models, strong work ethic, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
