Description

Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in the office a minimum of 8 days per month at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office location.

Job Summary:

As part of the Back Office development team, this Senior Engineer will analyze business requirements and drive research to design technical solutions that support our Service Center Portal, SmartForms, eSignature/DocuSign, Client Service Management, and Service Center Approvals applications.

The individual will be involved in the full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, systems analysis, and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Handles complex problems independently and demonstrates analytical thinking. Can make judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes system requirements, including identifying program interactions and appropriate interfaces between impacted components and sub systems.

  • Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or to reuse of existing code.

  • May lead assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.

  • May recommend new technologies and methodologies to management for meeting business needs, resolving problems and exploiting opportunities. Remains current with new technologies.

  • Participates in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

  • Provides technical advice and assists in solving programming problems.

  • Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts.

  • Reviews test results; documents test activities and records remedial actions.

  • Ensures proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of / Skills in:

  • Strong understanding of the SDLC lifecycle for Agile & Waterfall methodologies.

  • Experience as Java Developer in Financial Services industry is preferred, not required.

  • Background in Object Oriented Programming, service-oriented architectures, REST/SOAP standards are required.

  • Experience in Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate/JPA are required.

  • Knowledge of relational (Oracle or SQL Server) and NoSQL (ex: MongoDB) databases.

  • Background in JavaScript frameworks ex: Angular (preferred), React is nice to have.

  • Experience in Web 2.0, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript is nice to have.

  • Experience working in continuous integration environment leveraging open-source tools such as Jenkins, Git.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.

Education/Previous Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or combination of education, training and experience.

  • At least to five (5) years of experience in Design, Development and Support of Data-Driven, all aspects of SDLC in a highly scalable multi-tier applications in distributed environments is preferred.

  • Financial services and/or enterprise level experience is highly preferred.
