Job Description

The Finance Controller's department in the I&S sector is currently searching for a proactive individual who can work effectively solo and as a critical part of our team. This role provides an opportunity to gain insightful experiences that will be beneficial for future career progression in Finance. As a Financial Analyst, you will play an instrumental role in maintaining compliance and facilitating continuous improvements in our processes. We are looking to grow the successful candidate to take on responsibilities, including:

• Supporting Finance Managers with revisions to their process and procedure documents to ensure they align with corporate policies and accounting regulations.

• Overseeing a tracking matrix of policy and process documents, as well as managing monthly archives of modifications.

• Conducting tests on desktop procedures in various Finance process areas for sufficiency. Providing feedback and suggestions to Finance Managers based on the test results.

• Compiling a monthly Governance Report which includes a summary of changes to BAE Systems corporate and local I&S policies and procedures, the Finance task matrix, and the effectiveness of Finance desktop procedures.

• Coordinating and monitoring internal sector financial controls testing carried out by Finance Managers

• Undertaking special projects aimed at improving the performance of the sector s Finance function under the direction of the Controller's leadership team.

This role will initially be based on-site, with the potential for remote work in the future.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• A Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

• The ability to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse teams.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Previous experience in Program Finance or a similar field is highly advantageous.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.

• Proficient to expert level skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Confidence, strong business acumen, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

• The ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly.

• Interest in Special Projects and a desire for continuous learning within and beyond the Finance field to evolve into a comprehensive business partner.
