BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to provide comprehensive support to all aspects of system maintenance, from daily troubleshooting needs to the verification of system performance.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and assist the maintenance and troubleshooting of all Linux and Windows servers and workstations across a hybrid AWS / on-prem enterprise to ensure optimal balance between performance and cost.
Manage enterprise COMMVAULT backup and recovery solution ensuring compliance with program Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements.
Ensure optimal configuration, operation, and monitoring of cloud-based and on-prem systems using Splunk for log management and analysis, and SentinelOne for endpoint protection.
Assist with efforts to ensure logging, monitoring and alerting solutions for system performance, security, and cost optimization are continually functioning and in adherence with applicable regulations and policies.
Collaborate with team and users to identify opportunities to provide enhanced services and solutions throughout the various system lifecycles.
Perform periodic system reviews to maintain the baseline configuration, ensuring security patches, OS updates, and software versions are up to date across the environment utilizing Ansible Automation Platform
Provide Tier 3 incident response for critical infrastructure issues, both remotely and on-site as needed.
Develop and maintain procedural documentation, including diagrams, standard operational procedures, and best practices.
Maintain DoD 8570/8140 AIT level III certification throughout the life of the program.
Lead and mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership on enterprise best practices.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
15 years of experience as Sysadmin, with at least 5 years cloud solutions (AWS and/or Azure) experience.
DoD 8570/8140 AIT III certification
5 years of experience with COMMVAULT enterprise backup products
Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, and endpoint protection tools such as SentinelOne.
Experience with Splunk or similar log management platforms for monitoring and troubleshooting.
Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of leading technical teams and projects.
3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Ansible Automation Platform for patch and config management
5 years of experience in Linux tools/automation and shell scripting (bash, python, PowerShell)
3 years of experience with continuous integration/deployment tools such as Jenkins or GitLab
3 years creating, executing, and troubleshooting complex, automated processes used to configure servers and/or deploy code
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
BS in Computer Science or Cyber Security.
Experience with zero-trust security architectures and cloud-native security solutions.
AWS Certified Solutions Professional certification.
RedHat Certified System Administrator / Engineer Certification
Windows Server Certified Administration/Engineer Certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
