Hyatt Lead Cafeteria Cook in STOWE, Vermont

The Lead Cafeteria Cook is responsible for preparing the mise-en-place for the daily operations of the associates’ cafeteria in accordance with portion and quality standards specified by Spruce Peak. In addition, the Lead Cafeteria Cook provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to other colleagues.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares daily requisition for supplies and food items for production

  • Prepares the associates cafeteria cold and hot buffets

  • Carefully inspects, selects, and uses only food items of the highest standard in the preparation of mise-en-place

  • Follows the proper storage standards

  • Advises supervisor of low inventory items and assists in receiving and storing items

  • Maintains sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and Spruce Peak requirements

  • Cleans entire station at the end of the shift, and leaves station in ready to operate condition for next shift

  • Reports all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor

  • Assists chefs in any projects that need to be done

  • Communicates effectively with the department managers and other F&B staff

  • Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Spruce Peak policies

  • Upholds all safety standards of Spruce Peak


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Cooking experience preferred

  • Ability to handle food, objects, products and utensils

  • Ability to bend, stoop and kneel

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt to changing needs
