Job Summary:

Filling orders by preassembling individual items into ready-to-ship kits instead of picking and packing those individual items as orders are received is known as material handling. Specifically, material handling involves a process where separate but related items are grouped, packaged, and supplied together as one unit. Material Handler, Day Shift, Monday- Thursday, Hours 5:00am-3:30pm

Duties/Responsibilities:

• • Process orders, bills of lading and UPS / FedEx tickets

• • Enter shipping information into UPS/ FedEx, and Freight carrier systems

• • Receive all incoming goods; inspect and verify counts on all shipments

• • Ensure all goods have proper documentation and match paperwork with company purchase orders

• • Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and inventory control

• • Deliver goods to correct area

• • Complete required reports

• • Perform inventory control functions

• • Pulling and packaging parts for making accessory kits

• • Pulling all parts needed to build all product kits

• • Some light housekeeping

• • Assemble orders and prepares goods for shipment and record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability

• • Perform all other duties as assigned/ Assist other departments as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

• • Prior experience with UPS/FedEx and Freight shipping systems is a preferred

• • Must be able to work from prints and procedures and follow directions exactly

• • Requires operation of forklift, use of hand cart and packing tools

• • Excellent computer and communication skills

• • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

• • Must be able to read and understand bill of materials

• • Must have extreme accuracy and focus

• • Clear communication is extremely important

• • Must have 1-2 years experience

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Physical demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand for full shift; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Work environment: Non A/C work area, the noise level is usually moderate
