Job Title: Metal Finisher FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Department: Operations Reports To: Team Lead I

Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, this position will electropolish and passivate formed metal products. Other duties will include in-process inspection, pre-cleaning parts, racking/unracking parts, rinsing on production line, trafficking parts between departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None


  • Follow documented procedure for generating assigned production work daily

  • Ensures electropolishing and passivation processes (quality, safety) are adhered to and not compromised

  • Identifies non-conforming product based on visual and/or dimensional inspection criteria

  • Swiftly communicates quality and quantity issues to supervisors and/or co-workers

  • Manually pre-cleans parts

  • Documents in-process inspections results

  • Monitors and take appropriate timely improvement action to meet quality and quantity expectations

  • Monitor equipment to ensure that it is in proper working order. Recommends maintenance and repair if needed

  • Transports in-process work between departments

  • Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards as required by law and company policy

  • Maintain electropolish chemical solution

  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend written job instructions required

  • Must be able to accurately document processing notes

  • Ability to communicate effectively to supervisors and co-workers in a fast-paced production environment

  • Ability to climb stairs, reach, and twist as needed

  • Ability to use hand carts to move material and pull fully loaded pallet jacks

  • Ability to remain on feet continually throughout the workday

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing preferred

  • Ability to work in a Non-A/C environment

Education and Experience:

  • At least two-year related experience in electropolish, plating, metal finishing strongly preferred

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • While performing duties of the job, incumbent is required to stand for full shift; walk; sit; use hand to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear

  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 70 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Non-A/C work area; the noise level can periodically be higher than normal, hearing protection may be required
