Job Title: Metal Finisher FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Department: Operations Reports To: Team Lead I
Under moderate supervision, this position will electropolish and passivate formed metal products. Other duties will include in-process inspection, pre-cleaning parts, racking/unracking parts, rinsing on production line, trafficking parts between departments.
Follow documented procedure for generating assigned production work daily
Ensures electropolishing and passivation processes (quality, safety) are adhered to and not compromised
Identifies non-conforming product based on visual and/or dimensional inspection criteria
Swiftly communicates quality and quantity issues to supervisors and/or co-workers
Manually pre-cleans parts
Documents in-process inspections results
Monitors and take appropriate timely improvement action to meet quality and quantity expectations
Monitor equipment to ensure that it is in proper working order. Recommends maintenance and repair if needed
Transports in-process work between departments
Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards as required by law and company policy
Maintain electropolish chemical solution
All other duties as assigned
Ability to read and comprehend written job instructions required
Must be able to accurately document processing notes
Ability to communicate effectively to supervisors and co-workers in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to climb stairs, reach, and twist as needed
Ability to use hand carts to move material and pull fully loaded pallet jacks
Ability to remain on feet continually throughout the workday
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing preferred
Ability to work in a Non-A/C environment
Education and Experience:
At least two-year related experience in electropolish, plating, metal finishing strongly preferred
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
High School diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
While performing duties of the job, incumbent is required to stand for full shift; walk; sit; use hand to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 70 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Non-A/C work area; the noise level can periodically be higher than normal, hearing protection may be required
