Lockheed Martin Senior Manager, Wargaming - Suffolk, VA in Suffolk, Virginia

Description: Lockheed Martin is hiring a Senior Manager to lead the Wargame Design Team within the Center for Innovation (CFI, or the Lighthouse). This Senior Manager role will manage teams as well as serve as a Project Planner for wargaming, and reports directly to the Director for Center for Innovation.

This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of concurrent projects for the CFI that focuses on integrating wargaming, modeling and simulation applications, analysis, and experimentation capabilities. It serves as a principal point of contact and liaison with the Lockheed Martin (LM) Business Areas, LM Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Organization, LM Mission Development and Integration (MDI), and government partners on matters pertaining to utilization of the CFI and its capabilities. This role will join the CFI cross-functional Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and coordinate overall CFI operations, scheduling, and resourcing.

Daily responsibilities will include the following:

• Leading project planning and execution, including creation, approval, resourcing, execution, and risk management through project completion

• Representing the CFI to customers, teammates, senior executive management, and other stakeholders.

• Leading the day-to-day operations of a diverse team including the following:

-- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with CFI cross-functional staff, leadership and co-workers and ensuring these same effective relationships exist between direct reports and all functional areas

-- Serving as a link between senior management and employees by handling questions, and helping to resolve work-related problems

-- Coordinating with functional organizations (e.g. engineering, IT/AV, facilities, security, protocol, finance) and ensuring correct information is managed effectively

-- Planning, assigning, directing, and evaluating the work of direct staff

-- Ensuring accountability and follow-up for assigned activities

-- Setting annual objectives, and managing performance management and compensation & salary planning

-- Developing the workforce through establishment of mentoring relationships and career development plans

-- Preparing and following budgets for personnel and operations

The ideal candidate will have experience with project management, full-spectrum leadership, and technical experience with (or heavy exposure to) Operations Research, Operations Analysis, Wargaming, military history, or the defense industry; thinks strategically with the ability to identify, examine, and shape opportunities around customer needs; and strong interpersonal and communications skills and demeanor.

This role is fully onsite.

Basic Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and carrying out full-spectrum leadership

• Significant collaboration and engagement experience with military, inter-company, and industry partners at the senior leadership level

• Strong customer relations expertise and excellent presentation skills sufficient to comfortably and effectively present at senior leadership (business and military) level

• Experience with project management

• Knowledge and experience with DoD missions, capabilities, concepts of operations, and campaign analysis

• Education or experience in technical and/or engineering fields

• Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Desired Skills:

• Established technical expertise in wargaming, operational analysis/research, or modeling and simulation

• Advanced degree or certification in military Capability Development, Wargaming, Experimentation, Concept Development and Analysis as part of capability assessment and requirement generation

• Active TS/SCI Clearance

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
