BEO’s Formwork CoE rents Doka Frami Xlife handset formwork system and AT-PAC Ringlock system scaffolding to Bechtel projects at well below market rates. Projects have access the highest quality, most productive systems available, and because our fleet is one system with standard and common sizes, it offers advanced work planning/packaging opportunities and automated design in 3D built in model software packages.

Job Summary:

Bechtel Equipment Operations (BEO) Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Specialist takes direction from the Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Supervisor and interfaces with Bechtel projects regarding the supply of delivery of Scaffolding, Formwork and Shoring materials required for construction.

Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Specialist assists in preparation of recommended list of scaffold and formwork with quantities and pricing based on projected craft staffing and concrete quantities as received through interfacing with the discipline site supervisors and procurement teams.

The Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Specialist monitors craft manning schedules and actual hours to assist project to ensure scaffold and formwork are on hand to meet construction demand and remain within budget. They provide reports on a regular basis to ensure the overall objectives of the BEO program and project are met, ensure implementation of inventory control and security practices in coordination with supported project’s site management, communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of the requirements.

The Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Specialist is responsible for understanding the components and obligations of the Scaffold and Formwork programmes. These components include the management of material and items necessary for operations, developing field RFQs, requisitioning and replenishing materials while leveraging supplier agreements, remaining focused on delivering overall value all of our BEO supplied Bechtel projects. The Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Specialist will support BEO procurement as needed with bidder identification, pre-qualification, review of bidder lists, bid solicitation, bid analysis, as well as administration of field material requisitions.

The Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Specialist to the BEO Scaffold and Formwork Field Operations Supervisor in Sugar Land, TX, USA.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Oversees the preparation of Field Material Request’s (FMRs) and reviewing documentation including commercial invoices, reviewing packing lists and bills of lading for completeness and accuracy upon receipt of goods

2. Reviews Material Receiving Reports (MRRs) for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.

3. Continually audits BPS/DSCS data for accuracy and timeliness, & provide updates to reconcile accountings “Invoice Hold Report”

4. Ensures documentation to record unsatisfactory over, short, and damage conditions of material received; ensures that corrective action is expeditiously completed and that formal Unsatisfactory, Over, Short & Damaged Reports are prepared for permanent record.

5. Reviews the accomplishment of physical inventories on a timely basis to ensure valid records are continuously maintained. Perform periodic inventory checks to balance, cycle or update existing inventories and discrepancies.

6. Assists projects in ensuring BEO owned assets are maintained and repaired as required.

7. Supports Site Requests with materials and product based upon requests, deliveries, or sourcing to ensure that issues are properly controlled and documented in accordance with project procedures.

8. Assists in the disposal of surplus project materials as approved by BEO management and directed by project site management

9. Oversees preparation of shipping documents and registers for Scaffold and Formwork materials shipped to and from the BEO supplied project sites.

10. Must have a thorough understanding of the Scaffold and Formwork agreement terms and conditions

11. Assist in the monthly invoicing as per the project agreement

12. Responsible for Scaffold and Formwork Program reporting. This includes, but is not limited to, budget reporting, inventory reporting, Min-Max reporting, transfer/transaction reporting, usage and productivity KPIs etc.

The primary intent of the BEO Scaffold and Formwork programmes is to supply Bechtel projects with quality and efficient materials as required by construction at the lowest rate in the industry. It is service orientated operation that will help minimize delivery times, help standardize products being used on site, and to expedite material delivery in the timeliest manner possible.

Level 1

  • Coordinates the maintenance of Scaffold and Formwork-related inventory, including entering data into management systems.

  • Coordinates with projects by handling material requests, overseeing deliveries, or sourcing to ensure proper control and documentation in line with policies and procedures.

  • Tracks Scaffold and Formwork materials during erection or dismantling, recording information for daily progress sheets.

  • Coordinates the physical counting and inspection of incoming/outgoing Scaffold and Formwork materials between project sites and suppliers.

  • Compiles a weekly management report for Scaffold and Formwork status updates, as needed.

  • Records unsatisfactory, surplus, short, and damaged conditions of received materials and ensures corrective action is taken.

  • Participates and assists in team meetings, presentations, and training sessions to provide support.

Level 2

  • Maintains Scaffold and Formwork related inventory, including data entry into management systems.

  • Monitors Scaffold and Formwork material that are erected or dismantled and logs information for use in daily progress sheets.

  • Oversees the physical counting and inspection of incoming/outgoing Scaffold and Formwork materials between project sites and suppliers.

  • Prepares a comprehensive weekly management report for Scaffold and Formwork status updates, as needed.

  • Ensures thorough documentation of unsatisfactory, surplus, short, and damaged conditions of received materials, implementing corrective actions.

  • Prepares necessary documentation for shipping to subsequent project locations and coordinates the fumigation of Scaffold and Formwork material as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • Requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and Associate degree or related technical training preferred

Level 2

  • Requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience and Associate degree or related technical training preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate at least five years of Scaffolding/Formwork/Shoring industry knowledge and experience.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Applications, especially Excel and Word. Good oral and written communication.

  • Strong automation skills, ability to learn new applications quickly.

  • Proficient in organizing tasks for completion by an agreed deadline.

  • Knowledge of Scaffold and Formwork programmes operations and management.

  • Knowledge of material handling/warehousing processes and procedures.

  • Inventory management skills and experience

  • Industry recognized maintenance and inspection certification

  • Experience in freight management and basic T&L processes
