Lockheed Martin Electrical Assembler - Solar Devices in Sunnyvale, California

Description: IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, Vandenburg Air Force Base or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.

This occupation requires the assembly of solar and battery device assemblies.

Set-up, adjust and operate automatic solar cell soldering and brazing machines.

Prepare and attach cell assemblies to rigid or flexible substrates per blueprint and manufacturing process specifications.

Prepare and similarly attach various solar cell cover filters on solar modules.

Solder electrical components or place in ovens or under lights for specified times and heat cycles.

Perform in-process heat soak and electrical continuity checks and make continuity and high voltage checks on completed assemblies.

Sort cell assemblies into specified groups.

Trouble-shoot assemblies for the purpose of locating and correcting wiring errors, cell fractures or other similar deficiencies.

Determine sequence of operations for disassembly, cell preparations, soldering, brazing, potting and assembly of solar devices.

Perform rework wherein the operations are essentially the same as required for the work described herein.

Basic Qualifications:

• Knowledge of electrical assembly methods and materials associated with the manufacture of solar cell and battery assemblies.

• Ability to work from shop orders, blueprints and manufacturing process specifications; to use the tools, materials, equipment required to perform the work described; to use basic arithmetic.

• Certification for all processes used in the Solar Array Facility may be required.

Normally requires six months of satisfactory performance as an Electrical Assembler - Solar Devices.

Desired Skills:

• Current skillsets required to obtain certifications such as soldering, crimp, cable/harness assembly, adhesive/polymeric bonding and filleting, torqueing and the ability to use other certifiable tools as required.

• Experience with use of SAP or similar ERP systems.

• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and in-week overtime as needed.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

The base range for this position in California is $19.80 - $35.06.
