Our facility in Sunnyvale, CA has a sensational opportunity for a senior staff level System Safety professional who wants to join this mission. Our employees who work in this level of position typically have 14 years of professional experience. In your typical day in this position:
· As the GPI System Safety Lead you will provide the System Safety Engineering approach for managing hazards as an integral part of the Systems Engineering process.
· You will ensure that safety is designed into
hardware and software products - and that
controls are incorporated and remain effective -
assuring compliance to requirements
· Ensure that residual risks are identified,
accepted, and documented
· Verify that deliverables meet contractual
· You will prepare presentations and participate
in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews,
Program Management Reviews, Technical
Interchange Meetings, and various working
· You’ll review and approve test procedures for
alignment to System requirements
· For end-item hardware development, you will
provide oversight of assembly, integration and

· Bachelors degree in an Engineering or scientific
discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
· Active Secret Clearance
· Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E
· Software Safety engineering and analysis including software criticality determination
· Demonstrated knowledge and application of
System Safety design and operations principles
to include experience with hazard identification,
analysis, risk mitigation and associated
· Experience working in System Safety Working Groups to
· Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
· Must be able to work occasional overtime in
support of weekend and off-hour activities.
· Ability to travel as required
· Must be a United States citizen
· Ability to support Software Level of Rigor Processes
Knowledge of MDA Mission Assurance Provisions
· Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
· Must be able to interface with Customer and Program Management
· Demonstrated ability in developing technical baseline for System efforts and identifying critical hardware & software
